Epic Games’ Infinity Blade series, which may have single-handedly demonstrated that premium games can succeed on mobile, is no longer available for sale. Epic Games’ partnership with Apple saw the developer release three Infinity Blade games, all running on Unreal Engine, and regularly used to demonstrate the jump in GPU and CPU power at many iPhone launch events. The Infinity Blade games never made their way onto any other platform outside of iOS in the West, but Tencent published an Android – and bizarrely – an Xbox One port in China. All three App Store games were taken down this week. Owners of these games will be able to download and play them “for the foreseeable future”, but all in-app purchases are gone. In a brief message announcing the news, Epic said that it has become “increasingly difficult” to support the Infinity Blade games at a level that meets the developer’s standards. “The Infinity Blade series will always … [Read more...] about In a surprise move, Epic removes all 3 Infinity Blade games from iOS App Store

Tekken has almost always been one of the heavyweight champions in the fighting genre. Fans have more or less stayed by the series through its ups and downs, given how the Tekken franchise sales have surpassed 47 million units since its inception in 1994 (or 1995 for its first console release). Series Director Katsuhiro Harada announced the news earlier today on Twitter. He thanked the fans in the tweet and shared some of the stats. Tekken 7, the most recent installment, has surpassed over 3 million sales. While the tweet initially looks like a celebration of that specific milestone, Harada revealed that Tekken 7 sales had reached 3 million back in December 2017. He even said as much in the tweet by stating that “Tekken 7 had achieved Over [sic] 3 million sales before one year passed from release, but there was no timing to upload this.” The lack of some of the new DLC characters—like Lei or Anna—in the picture shows that the team had hit that number … [Read more...] about Tekken Franchise Sales Pass 47 Million Units
Dark Souls Remastered is due this Friday, May 25. To mark the occasion, the Humble Store has both sequels, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3, on sale with a 75 percent discount. Visit Lothric and/or Drangleic on the cheap from now through Thursday at 10am PST/6pm BST. As you might have spied last month, Dark Souls' Prepare to Die PC edition was removed from sale in preparation for the reworking—which is why Humble's discounts focus on its sequels. Otherwise priced £29.99/your regional equivalent, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin is now going for £7.49. Dark Souls 2 is my least favourite of the series, but that's mostly because I adore the first and third. And for every instance of jarring level design or incongruous enemy placement here, there's the odd brilliant boss fight—not least Looking Glass Knight, which is one of my all-time favourites. Dark Souls 3, on the other hand, is now on sale for £9.99 (otherwise £39.99). With Hidetaka … [Read more...] about Get 75 percent off Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 on the Humble Store
AMD loves to provide PC users with a great $99 CPU, and with the Ryzen 3 2200G, it's delivered a genuine classic. Traditional wisdom suggests that when constructing a gaming PC, you need to purchase both CPU and GPU, but the Red Team's latest offering delivers an all-in-one package - a quad-core Ryzen CPU, paired with Radeon RX Vega graphics. You'll need to be realistic with quality settings and resolutions - you've got just over 1.1 teraflops of compute to play with - but this entry-level processor can indeed run most triple-A PC titles, and we had a lot of fun proving that. In addition to the keenly-priced 2200G, there's also an accompanying, more powerful, somewhat pricier Ryzen 5 2400G - and this brace of APUs are actually the first we can thoroughly recommend owing to their integration into AMD's all-encompassing AM4 platform. As good as they may have been for their time, previous generation APUs have required their own motherboards, limiting upgrade potential. However, if you … [Read more...] about Ryzen 3 2200G/ Ryzen 5 2400G review: triple-A gaming without a graphics card?
