Update: Jake Gyllenhaal has taken to Instagram to, seemingly, finally confirm his role in Spider-Man: Far From Home. In what appears to be his first ever post on Instagram — which is a shame really! — Gyllenhaal starts out reading a Spider-Man comic that features Mysterio on the cover then gives us a shocked look, with the caption, “I just realized I’m not playing Spider-Man,” attached to the post. While this isn’t exactly new information, this does support the idea that we’re getting closer to a trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man movie, rumored to be attached to the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Original story from May below: Spider-Man: Homecoming’s sequel has found its villain in Jake Gyllenhaal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gyllenhaal is in talks to play Mysterio, a special effects designer and stuntman who turns to supervillainy in pursuit of the fame he feels he deserves. This is something of a full-circle … [Read more...] about Jake Gyllenhaal finally admits he’s Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man PS4’s Insomniac iteration continues to run in people’s PlayStations around the world. Even more so since the addition of their NG plus system which added a new layer of replayability, followed by the Heist DLC. Which added new content. After a recent patch that added some bug fixes and the banner for the next DLC, Turf Wars is set to release this weekend. The content will include a new story arc that follows the classic Spidey villain Hammerhead. The hot topic of the new DLC however, is the three new suits the Webhead will be adding to his closet. Now while I’m not exactly familiar with the cute little Spider-Clan suit. I do love its design, falls in the category of the vintage suit, with the aesthetic being different from the Spider-man PS4 game itself. The scrawny body also sort of reminds me of the Ultimate comics, which is a big plus of course. I do recognize the other two bad boys though. The Iron Spider being the most prominent. For those confused … [Read more...] about Spider-Man PS4 Unveils The New Turf War DLC Suits For The Next Update
If playing through Insomniac's Spider-Man PS4 game was your first major exposure to the world of Peter Parker outside of the cinematic stylings of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, chances are you just met a whole bunch of characters for the first time--or sort of the first time. Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, technically made her live action debut in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, though she never got to actually evolve into her costumed alter-ego. She's been given a second chance at the limelight after being introduced as an on-screen presence care of Spider-Man's first DLC expansion, appropriately titled The Heist.Prior to the DLC, Felicia had been in the game, but only as an off screen voice. She led poor Spidey around the city on a wild goose chase that doubled as a side quest to unlock a cool new suit, but the Cat herself stayed far away from the action as things went down. This, of course, was by design--she'd just been biding her time, moving pieces around the board, … [Read more...] about Who Is Black Cat, The Star Of Spider-Man PS4’s First Expansion?
Spider-Man: Homecoming’s sequel has found its villain in Jake Gyllenhaal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gyllenhaal is in talks to play Mysterio, a special effects designer and stuntman who turns to supervillainy in pursuit of the fame he feels he deserves. This is something of a full-circle turn for the actor: He was once considered to play Spider-Man after Tobey Maguire injured his back during the filming of Seabiscuit. Gyllenhaal will take the antagonist’s part against Tom Holland, who will return to the role of Peter Parker. Other returning cast members have not been confirmed, but will likely include Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Zendaya (Mary Jane) and Jacob Batalon (Ned). Mysterio is a Spider-Man villain with a considerable pedigree, having been invented by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in The Amazing Spider-Man #13 in 1964. He was even in the original lineup of the Sinister Six, the dastardly and recurring team-up of Spider-Man’s biggest bad guys. Although several … [Read more...] about Jake Gyllenhaal in talks to join Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 as Mysterio
Slinging web around the skyscrapers in Manhattan and taking on the Rhino in a cage match are two of my fondest gaming memories. The slinging web might’ve given it away, but that was Spider-Man 2, a game that came out on the PS2 in 2004. Few Spider-Man titles have come close to being that great, but hopefully that will change soon. The Insomniac developed Spider-Man is one of the most anticipated games coming out this year, and it has the potential to be a fantastic licensed adventure - something that doesn’t happen very often with games based on superheroes. But with an experienced team at the helm it’s a serious possibility, so I spoke to a few veterans of the web-slinger’s world to find out what’s needed to make the ideal Spider-Man game. Get Spidey Sense right Spider-Man is known for a few major powers: his web slinging, wall crawling, and Spidey Sense. Luckily we’ve already seen a fantastic portrayal of swinging through New York, “No one … [Read more...] about What makes a great Spider-Man game?
