Ewan McGregor Credits Star Wars Prequel Fans For His Obi-Wan Return
Disney+'s upcoming limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi will fill a hole in the Skywalker Saga between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, while expanding on ideas birthed out of Star Wars: Rebels. However, this show may not have happened if it weren't for prequel fans explaining their love of those movies to series star Ewan McGregor. Arriving on the streaming service on May 27, McGregor reprises his role as the Jedi Knight, but years before this show came to fruition, McGregor didn't see his work on the prequels as positively affecting anyone. "One of the difficult things about being in the prequels was that, when they came out, it didn't seem well received because there was no social media," McGregor said during an Obi-Wan press conference. "There was no direct avenue to the fans at the time and also the fans were kids." McGregor explained the prequel films were made for a younger generation, much like how the original trilogy was also aimed at younger kids. "When the first film … [Read more...] about Ewan McGregor Credits Star Wars Prequel Fans For His Obi-Wan Return
Destiny 2 Vault Size Increasing By 100 In Season 17
Bungie has announced that in Destiny 2 's next season, players will get an increase to their vault space. As outlined in the latest TWAB post , Bungie said that it would be increasing players vault size by 100 spaces, bringing the grand total to 600 items. This marks Destiny 2's first expansion to player's vault size in nearly four years , since the last time it received an increase was in Destiny 2's lauded Forsaken expansion. Vault space, which has been viewed as a precious commodity by the most heavily invested Destiny 2 players, has been a frequent source of tension for the community since it last received an upgrade. It has not only been years since players vault spaces were bumped to 500 slots; countless seasons and three expansions chock full of armor and weapons have arrived in the game since then, meaning that vault space has been long overdue. For a game all about collecting rare and precious loot, the lack of updates to vault size began feeling hostile to many … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 Vault Size Increasing By 100 In Season 17
How Does Cross Worlds Fit Into The Ni No Kuni Universe?
Historically, Ni no Kuni has taken an almost Final Fantasy-style approach to sequels. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and its only-in-Japan counterparts, Dominion of the Dark Djinn for DS and Hotroit Stories for mobile devices, exist as one story. The console sequel, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, takes place many generations later, with any ties to the original basically functioning as fun Easter eggs. Characters and plot don't move between games, but themes, the art style, and certain enemies and races do. The 2019 Ni no Kuni movie took a similar approach and did not feature direct overlap with the games. The upcoming No no Kuni mobile MMO, Cross Worlds, is continuing the tradition and not relying on the story that came before it. But there are plenty of reasons to recognize Cross Worlds as a legitiamte Ni no Kuni game that understands its roots--and it might be more of proper sequel than assumed. The original Ni no Kuni tells the story of a young boy who loses his mother … [Read more...] about How Does Cross Worlds Fit Into The Ni No Kuni Universe?
Halo TV Boss Discusses Master Chief Having Sex For The First Time
In the first season of Paramount +'s Halo TV series, Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) has sex, a moment that generated a lot of discussion and debate online. Halo's Kiki Wolfkill has now shed some further light on the intimate moment, saying the creative team on the show went back and forth on the idea. "There was a lot of conversation leading up to whether to do that or not and it was a tough one. I mean, I will say that there's a lot of different opinions and voices," she told Deadline . From Wolfkill's own perspective, she believes Chief and Makee (Charlie Murphy) hooking up was an important moment to demonstrate that Chief was capable of having a "human connection with someone." "There's a lot of different opinions on how to do that, and ultimately, we ended up with that path and I think a lot of us feel conflicted about it and that's not a bad thing," Wolfkill said. Wolfkill went on to say that Chief and Makee going to bed together helped make Chief's storyline and … [Read more...] about Halo TV Boss Discusses Master Chief Having Sex For The First Time
Fallout: London looks brilliant in first gameplay footage
A lengthy gameplay video has given us to our first proper peek at Fallout: London, and it looks brilliant. With Bethesda firmly focused on sci-fi RPG Starfield as well as the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls 6 , Fallout fans are left to wonder when the developer will return to its stellar post-apocalyptic series. Details on Fallout 5 are thin on the ground, and the game's release is likely still many years down the road. But some skilled Fallout fans are on hand to make that wait a little easier. Fallout: London is a DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4 that trades the game's American setting for an all-new post-apocalyptic adventure set in London. The Fallout London Team has now revealed how this ambitious project is shaping up in an 18-minute YouTube video. The mod is still a work in progress, but already it's looking very impressive. There's clearly been a lot of effort put in to ensure that Fallout: London looks and feels different from any other Fallout game yet … [Read more...] about Fallout: London looks brilliant in first gameplay footage
The Last Of Us Remake Will Reportedly Launch This Holiday Season
We're still getting reports that a remake for 2013's The Last of Us is in the works, and it seems like it's scheduled to launch sometime this year. The remake will supposedly launch in the holiday season, which is currently fairly empty following Starfield's delay . "I keep hearing that [The Last of Us remake] is coming out this year," Grubbsnax host and GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb said on the May 18, 2022 episode of Kinda Funny Gamescast . "The Last of Us remake this holiday." Several sources have already reported this story, so there's a good chance there may be some truth to the story. In a tweet back in January, freelance writer and gaming industry insider Tom Henderson first reported The Last of Us remake would launch in "the latter half of 2022." Bloomberg collaborated on this prediction and followed up with its own report in April. Also in April, a LinkedIn listing hinted that developer Naughty Dog may be working on a remake for The Last of Us . The listing … [Read more...] about The Last Of Us Remake Will Reportedly Launch This Holiday Season
