Lost Ark's next major update is on the horizon, but when it does arrive on June 30, it won't include a previously promised feature--Yoz's Jar. In a new blog post outlining features coming to the free-to-play MMO in the Wrath of the Covetous Legion update, Lost Ark's Western publisher Amazon states the Yoz's Jar cosmetics system described in the game's recent roadmap won't be featured in the upcoming update as originally planned. The jar would have introduced a new cosmetic system into Lost Ark, and while it was primarily just for fashion purposes, epic and legendary skins obtained through Yoz's Jar would have granted 1% or 2% attack power increases, depending on rarity. Yoz's Jar cosmetics would have been obtainable from the in-game store via Royal Crystals. The skins could then be sold on the player-to-player market. Players can exchange non-premium currencies like gold for premium ones like Royal Crystals through an in-game exchange system. Therefore, it would have … [Read more...] about Lost Ark June Update Will Not Include Pay-To-Win Cosmetics, Amazon Says

Steam Deck Mod Lets You Install Larger M.2 Drives
As the Steam Deck gets into more users’ hands, more people are exercising their right to tinker with the device . Given the space limitations of Steam Deck generally, it’s not surprising that some of those efforts have been put into expanding the amount of storage it has. As shipped, the Steam Deck supports only the smallest variety of M.2 drives, the 2230. Twitter user @TheSmcelra , as reported by Hot Hardware , found a way to allow for a slightly bigger drive: a M.2 2242. To do this, they used a 30 to 42 mm bracket extension to push the retention screw slightly further on the motherboard and simply moved a thermal pad out of the way. As a consequence, the back board of the Deck pushed out slightly. However, the larger drive did not interfere with any other part of the device. The thread concludes with them successful installing SteamOS onto the new drive. The pcb appears to work fairly well for adapting a 2242 m2 to the steam deck, it doesn't collide with anything on the … [Read more...] about Steam Deck Mod Lets You Install Larger M.2 Drives

Sonic Origins dev laments Sega’s handling of the remaster: “Every one of us is very unhappy”
The Sonic Origins collection launched this week with a number of bugs and issues, and one of the developers on the project is speaking publicly about what went wrong. "This is frustrating," Simon 'Stealth' Thomley of Headcannon says on Twitter (opens in new tab) . "I won't lie and say that there weren't issues in what we gave to Sega, but what is in Origins is also not what we turned in. Under The Shadow director Babak Anvari talks his new “Hitchcockian neo-noir crime thriller”
With Under the Shadow and Wounds , British-Iranian filmmaker Babak Anvari announced himself as a bracingly fresh voice in the supernatural horror genre. But there’s more than one string to Anvari’s fearsome bow, as evidenced by I Came By, a "Hitchcockian neo-noir crime thriller" that also proves the British film industry doesn’t make them like it used to. "I find it interesting that we’ve lost touch with the whole Hitchcockian genre in Britain," Anvari tells Total Film in the new issue, featuring Thor: Love and Thunder on the cover . "So it’s really exciting for me to take inspiration from the master and try to do something in that vein, in modern times." Set in contemporary inner-city London, the film stars George MacKay as Toby and Percelle Ascott as Jay, graffiti artists and income-inequality avengers who break into the homes of the city’s wealthy elite only to tag their walls with a three-word insignia – 'I Came By' – before slipping away into the night. "It’s … [Read more...] about Under The Shadow director Babak Anvari talks his new “Hitchcockian neo-noir crime thriller”
