Disney Plus Adds Parental Controls, Opening The Door For R-Rated Content

· February 24, 2021 ·

Streaming services give us access to thousands of hours of content, with only licensing agreements to act as curation. That's tantalizing for us grown-ups, but it's a far cry from the crafted experiences of specific television channels or a DVD collection. Parental controls are crucial to help make sure our kids--from toddler to teen--are able to watch the shows appropriate, and while Disney+ has lacked them since its launch in 2019, that's no longer the case. Disney+ added parental controls this week, which feature a variety of age ranges, as well as the ability to add a PIN to lock profiles that have access to mature content so that you can still watch the Muppet Show on your profile, but keep control over what your children see. By default, accounts are set to view TV-14 and PG-13 content and below, which encompasses everything currently on Disney+. Age Profiles for the service are as follows: 0+ 6+ 9+ 12+ 14+ 16+ 18+ In addition to creating a PIN, you can also … [Read more...] about Disney Plus Adds Parental Controls, Opening The Door For R-Rated Content

Valheim’s strengths lie in cosiness, co-operation and small huts

· February 23, 2021 ·

"Alright warrior," Valheim's raven narrator Hugin told me when I first booted up the game. "Odin's counting on you to slay a bunch of horrible creatures then ascend to Valhalla. It's a perilous journey and you'll need to arm yourself properly to defeat the Forsaken. Are you up for the task?" "Sure, sure," I said in reply. "But those small huts over there look kinda cute." If you hadn't yet guessed, I've spent most of my time in Valheim simply building and renovating small cabins. The survival game is split into several biomes, each with its own unique enemies and materials, but it took me at least 15 hours to leave the first - and I've once again found myself constructing tiny homes in the second. Whenever I stumble across ruins I feel obligated to fix them up, like some sort of Viking real estate show. I'm calling it Homes Under Thor's Hammer. I almost began to feel guilty for delaying exploration to satisfy my building obsession, until I realised Valheim actively encourages … [Read more...] about Valheim’s strengths lie in cosiness, co-operation and small huts

One of the most notorious Spider-Man stories ever returns in Amazing Spider-Man #60

· February 24, 2021 ·

This week's Amazing Spider-Man #60 from writer Nick Spencer and artists Mark Bagley, John Dell, Andrew Hennessey, and Rachelle Rosenberg delves into Peter's emotions over his most recent adventures - and spells major potential fallout from his distant past. What happens next could alter Peter's relationship with Mary Jane Watson forever, and maybe even his very soul. Spoilers ahead for Amazing Spider-Man #60 In the wake of his latest encounter with the villainous Kindred, and the reveal of the mysterious menace's secret identity as Peter Parker's lifelong best friend Harry Osborn, Peter is struggling with the truth and suffering psychological anguish. To help him past what he's experiencing, Mary Jane takes him to the performance theater where she got her big break, which was once owned by Harry's father, the villainous Green Goblin. She tells Peter to use a technique she first used after the events of the classic story Amazing Spider-Man: The Death of Gwen Stacy , … [Read more...] about One of the most notorious Spider-Man stories ever returns in Amazing Spider-Man #60

Evan Peters In WandaVision Was Decided Early On In Development, According To Kevin Feige

· February 24, 2021 ·

One of the biggest jaw-dropping moments from the Disney+ series WandaVision was the inclusion of Evan Peters as Wanda's brother Pietro. That's because Peters played the character in the X-Men movies, but not his lone MCU appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige explained it was an early addition to the show. During the TCA winter press tour, Feige was asked about the discussion of deciding to include Peters or Aaron Taylor-Johnson, as both actors played Quicksilver in different superhero universes. "There are discussions on everything," Feige said. "That's one of the fun things about developing these things are blue skying it in a room. It's my favorite part of the process. It's always the very very beginning, when we're figuring out what something could be and at the very very end, when we're finally we're finding it and then putting it out into the world. So there were all all sorts of discussions, but I believe it, we ended up going with … [Read more...] about Evan Peters In WandaVision Was Decided Early On In Development, According To Kevin Feige
