Disney Plus Adds Parental Controls, Opening The Door For R-Rated Content

· February 24, 2021 ·

Streaming services give us access to thousands of hours of content, with only licensing agreements to act as curation. That's tantalizing for us grown-ups, but it's a far cry from the crafted experiences of specific television channels or a DVD collection. Parental controls are crucial to help make sure our kids--from toddler to teen--are able to watch the shows appropriate, and while Disney+ has lacked them since its launch in 2019, that's no longer the case. Disney+ added parental controls this week, which feature a variety of age ranges, as well as the ability to add a PIN to lock profiles that have access to mature content so that you can still watch the Muppet Show on your profile, but keep control over what your children see. By default, accounts are set to view TV-14 and PG-13 content and below, which encompasses everything currently on Disney+. Age Profiles for the service are as follows: 0+ 6+ 9+ 12+ 14+ 16+ 18+ In addition to creating a PIN, you can also … [Read more...] about Disney Plus Adds Parental Controls, Opening The Door For R-Rated Content

Cyberpunk 2077 is no GTA, but GTA 2 was a cyberpunk game

· February 24, 2021 ·

Society is in rapid decay. With the crime rate soaring and biochemical dependency in healthy proliferation, you are about to have the time of your life. The city is on the edge of collapse, with law and order beginning to break down completely. People are running wild, half-addled on food additives and semi-legal pharmaceutical pills. A giant corporation controls every aspect of society, from entertainment to organ transplants. Everything is polluted, dirty, unpleasant. Life has never been cheaper. It’s a premise that belongs in a sourcebook for Cyberpunk 2020. Instead, improbably, it’s the way Rockstar chose to introduce GTA 2. Just two years before the series unfolded in three dimensions, expanding its audience in kind, the mainline Grand Theft Auto was a rock ‘n’ roll sci-fi dystopia. GTA 2 belongs to an experimental period in the late ‘90s, when Rockstar believed the series could be basically anything. Earlier the same year, the publisher had released GTA: London 1969, a … [Read more...] about Cyberpunk 2077 is no GTA, but GTA 2 was a cyberpunk game

New on Disney Plus in March 2021: All the new movies and shows

· February 24, 2021 ·

Another month means another new batch of movies and TV shows are coming to Disney Plus, and we've put them all in a handy list for you. First things first, it's all happening in the MCU this month – March sees the WandaVision finale hit the small screen and answer all our questions about what's really going on in Westview, as well as the first two episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (which will undoubtedly create a lot more questions of its own). Plus, there's a whole bunch of recently added movies and shows courtesy of Star in the UK, including Deadpool 2, Pretty Woman, Lost, and 24. Check out the full list here . If you're looking for more family-friendly fare, try Raya and the Last Dragon, available on Premier Access, Gnomeo & Juliet , or Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children for your next movie night. There's a whole lot more, too, so without further ado: here's everything new on Disney Plus in March 2021, with the three of the biggest … [Read more...] about New on Disney Plus in March 2021: All the new movies and shows

Valheim’s strengths lie in cosiness, co-operation and small huts

· February 23, 2021 ·

"Alright warrior," Valheim's raven narrator Hugin told me when I first booted up the game. "Odin's counting on you to slay a bunch of horrible creatures then ascend to Valhalla. It's a perilous journey and you'll need to arm yourself properly to defeat the Forsaken. Are you up for the task?" "Sure, sure," I said in reply. "But those small huts over there look kinda cute." If you hadn't yet guessed, I've spent most of my time in Valheim simply building and renovating small cabins. The survival game is split into several biomes, each with its own unique enemies and materials, but it took me at least 15 hours to leave the first - and I've once again found myself constructing tiny homes in the second. Whenever I stumble across ruins I feel obligated to fix them up, like some sort of Viking real estate show. I'm calling it Homes Under Thor's Hammer. I almost began to feel guilty for delaying exploration to satisfy my building obsession, until I realised Valheim actively encourages … [Read more...] about Valheim’s strengths lie in cosiness, co-operation and small huts

Anthem 2.0 Reboot Canceled, BioWare Promises To Keep Current Servers Live

· February 24, 2021 ·

Electronic Arts and BioWare have decided to cease development on Anthem , following an internal review. In a statement, BioWare Austin studio head Christian Dailey says that the team has been working hard on its concepts for "Anthem NEXT," but the pandemic has had an impact on studio productivity. "I know this will be disappointing to the community of Anthem players who have been excited to see the improvements we've been working on," Dailey said in the update. "It's also disappointing for the team who were doing brilliant work. And for me personally, Anthem is what brought me to BioWare, and the last two years have been some of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career." He goes on to say that going forward BioWare will be focusing its efforts on the Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and updates to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Anthem's live service will continue running for the current player community, without further updates. Anthem appeared to be Electronic Arts' … [Read more...] about Anthem 2.0 Reboot Canceled, BioWare Promises To Keep Current Servers Live
