As is generally the case with online releases, developers are constantly tweaking and balancing the titles with updates in order to ensure that a given game is as polished as can possibly be for its player base, and Fortnite Battle Royale is no exception. Now, Epic Games has decided to make fans aware of some key changes coming to the title soon, including alterations involving plane damage and some weapon reloads. According to a post on the official Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit, this week’s v7.40 update for the free-to-play title is set to change it so that planes can no longer fly through structures and destroy them, which ought to promote a sense of safety to those perched atop a tower they’ve built while doing battle with an X-4 Stormwing. What’s more is that rocket launcher reload times will be increased from 2.52s to 3.24s, giving those on the receiving end of the explosive weapon a little more time to try and survive. In addition to these aforementioned … [Read more...] about Fortnite Making Key Changes to Plane Damage, Some Weapon Reloads

Bungie Making Key Changes to Destiny 2 Iron Banner
Last week, Iron Banner returned to Destiny 2 for the first time since the release of the Forsaken expansion. A few changes were introduced to Iron Banner, and Bungie has been monitoring the community’s reaction to them, and the studio was not happy with the results. In a blog post, the game’s senior designer Jeremiah Pieschl revealed that “One of the goals for Iron Banner is that it’s an opportunity for lower-Power players to catch up or re-engage in their pursuit of Power. Based on your feedback and our analytics, we’re not meeting that goal.” As a solution, Bungie will be rolling out two major changes in Iron Banner to resolve the problem.First, Bungie will be reducing completion values on multiple event bounties. This will ensure that low-Power players will have a better chance of completing a bounty in Iron Banner. The full list of adjustments are listed below: Lightsaber: Super kills has been reduced to 20 from 25 Iron in the Blood: Match … [Read more...] about Bungie Making Key Changes to Destiny 2 Iron Banner
Battlefield V Attrition Getting “Key Changes” After Player Feedback
The Battlefield V Attrition system is getting to accommodate some key changes based on player feedback. According to EA DICE, the community reaction was mixed but the majority wanted tweaks to adjust the game’s attrition system. While the polarizing feedback didn’t help much, they did manage to nail down some elements fans wanted to be changed. In general, I would say that the direction we are going with attrition right now toward launch is that certain weapons, not all weapons, will more starting ammunition on spawn and will have more ammo capacity, meaning the maximum ammo you can carry. And we are also looking into having every soldier spawn with the pouch for self-heal. But that is only a one time use, so if you use it once you get a new one from a medic or pick it up from a resupply station. Speaking on resupply stations, they are also making changes to the way they are prebuilt on the map, keeping in tone with giving out a med pack to everyone. Prebuilt stations … [Read more...] about Battlefield V Attrition Getting “Key Changes” After Player Feedback
Nintendo Switch eShop gets beloved music studio — but with some key changes
This week’s Nintendo Switch eShop new games update isn’t thin so much as it’s lacking a big-name, marquee addition. There’s Another Lost Phone: Laura’s Story for the story-heavy, mobile port lovers; Hello Kitty Kruisers is out on Switch to make Sanrio fans’ and rare Wii U game collectors’ lives a little easier; and Jotun: Valhalla Edition comes to the console and brings Norse mythological action with it. But it’s aspiring DJs who may have the most to be excited about this week — although with some potential dealbreakers attached. Korg Gadget for Nintendo Switch is a port of the popular music production software that’s developed and published by the electronic hardware maker. Think of it like Garage Band: It’s a studio that lets you play several different instrument sounds using different virtual synthesizers, or “gadgets.” Easy-to-read squares replace traditional notation, making this far more accessible to … [Read more...] about Nintendo Switch eShop gets beloved music studio — but with some key changes
New Fortnite Update Out Now; Patch Notes Detail What’s Changed
Following a relatively brief maintenance period, Epic Games has released the new 2.2.0 update for Fortnite on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. As detailed previously, it deals primarily with Battle Royale, adding a newly updated version of the map, pre-game voice chat, and more.Updates to the map are the most significant component of the patch. New areas have been added, primarily to the western half of the map, which had been somewhat sparsely populated before now. This includes a new city section and underground mines. Existing areas also receive a makeover, with Epic providing more differentiation between the various biomes. As lead systems designer Eric Williamson said recently, "The swamp feels swampier, the mountains feel more mountain-y. Really, the different areas of the map feel more unique."Epic has also rolled out a new level-streaming system. Although it doesn't directly have an effect on gameplay, Epic says it "enabl[es] a richer map and improved performance." Load times on consoles … [Read more...] about New Fortnite Update Out Now; Patch Notes Detail What’s Changed
