By Stephany Nunneley, Wednesday, 9 May 2018 21:17 GMT DICE has provided information on what to expect as part of its Han Solo season in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Starting next week on May 16, Han Solo month kicks off allowing Star Wars Battlefront 2 players to jump “back into the original trilogy” via various challenges and quests. New content inspired by Solo: A Star Wars Story will arrive in June, but until that time, players can look forward to the following in May: Hero Showdown: The new game mode is similar to Heroes vs Villains but features a 2v2 new best out of five rule set. The new round-based elimination mode has player pick a hero or villain and as once a round is won, another duo must be picked for the next round. Should a player defeated they will have to wait and see what happens with their teammate until the round is over. The successful team will be unable to use the same heroes or villains in the next round. The losers can pick any … [Read more...] about Han Solo season kicks off next week in Star Wars Battlefront 2 with Hero Showdown, new appearances, more
Jedis in star wars
After all the fanfare, theories, and speculation surrounding Rey’s parental reveal in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, they turned out to be… two nobodies. Surprise?! That may not be the end of the tale, though. J.J. Abrams is back on board for Star Wars 9 and, as Simon Pegg has recently revealed, he wanted to go in the complete opposite direction for the identities Rey’s mum and dad.Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (H/T Comicbook.com), Pegg (who had a cameo in Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens) explains that the now two-time Star Wars director had something very different in mind.“I know what J.J. intended or at least [the idea of] what was being chucked around. I think that’s been undone slightly by [The Last Jedi],” hints Pegg. “There was some talk about a kind of ‘relevant lineage’ for her… But I honestly don’t know, and I don’t know if anyone knows, we’ll see.”My first thought? … [Read more...] about Simon Pegg reveals J.J. Abrams had a different choice for Rey’s parents – will we see them in Star Wars 9?
The fan-driven request to see Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) pair up again in Star Wars: Episode IX has been heard by the top brass. The two lead characters were introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and returned in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) as well, only to be split up in the latter to pursue their separate paths. Thankfully, they are set to join forces once again in the third and last installment in the new trilogy. While speaking with an audience during a panel at Awesome Con (via Slash Film) on the weekend, actor Boyega stated that he has zero knowledge about the plot finalized for Star Wars: Episode IX. However, he did share a little insight about his co-star, actress Ridley. “I haven’t read the script for Episode IX but Daisy did shoot me a text saying, ‘Oh my gosh, I just heard from J.J. [Abrams], and we’re back together.’ That’s what I’m really excited about, is Finn and Rey back together again,” … [Read more...] about Rey and Finn Will Reunite in Star Wars: Episode IX
J.J. Abrams had better hope he’s made some backups. According to Daisy Ridley, the Star Wars 9 director (who, at the time, was one and done after Star Wars: The Force Awakens) actually wrote drafts for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars 9. The problem? Rian Johnson wanted to do his own thing. Now, we’re kinda left with a big problem heading into the trilogy’s final chapter. As revealed by Ridley in an interview with French publication Le Magazine GEEK (and translated by The Playlist), things originally seemed far more straightforward for movie plans in a galaxy far, far away, “J.J. wrote Episode 7, he also wrote drafts for [The Last Jedi] and [Star Wars] 9.” Nice and simple. So far. “Then Rian arrived and re-wrote [The Last Jedi] entirely,” Ridley reveals. “I believe there was some sort of general consensus on the main storylines that would happen in the trilogy, but apart from that, we agreed that every director should probably make … [Read more...] about J.J. Abrams reportedly wrote drafts for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars 9
Star Wars: The Last Jedi had a lot going on. One thing it didn’t address, however, was the quality bit of father/son bonding time that went down in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Han Solo – for so long the lifeblood of the franchise – died and, yeah, that was pretty much it. Rian Johnson explains why we didn’t see a funeral (or any response at all, really) – and it carries on a Star Wars tradition found way back in A New Hope… Speaking to Collider, Johnson reveals that a funeral for Han Solo was never on the table and that “pacing-wise it didn’t have a place. It’s tough in Star Wars because I always think about the mourning that Luke gives to Ben’s death, which is all of four-and-a-half seconds before, ‘Come on kid we’re not out of this yet’ and then boom, you’re into ‘Yay, woo-hoo! Don’t get cocky!’ There’s the moment for it, but it’s not long.” It’s worth … [Read more...] about Rian Johnson explains why Han Solo didn’t get a funeral in Star Wars: The Last Jedi
