When is the rumoured Intel i9 desktop CPU going to launch? We’ve long suspected that Intel would update its Coffee Lake lineup with a new Core i9, and we’re confident it’ll be this year. Since AMD launched its octa-core Ryzen processors back in the springtime of last year there has been talk of how Intel would respond, and finally it did… with a set of six-core CPUs in the 14nm Coffee Lake generation of chips. But we’ve been waiting for a Core i9 9900K, or something similar, to appear since the 12nm second-gen Ryzen processors arrived. It seems the i9 chips are now on their way. After the top processors around right now? Check out our pick of the best CPUs for gaming. In the high-end desktop (HEDT) and mobile spaces Intel has already released Core i9 processors, marking out the very top of its chip stacks, but in the mainstream desktop market we’ve been stuck with a six-core Intel Coffee Lake Core i7 as our only top option. But it can’t remain … [Read more...] about Intel i9 release date… 8-core desktop CPU specs, news, and rumours

A major German-based IT distributor known as BlueChip has recently revealed the latest Intel And AMD Chipset Roadmap, which actually shows that the new Z390 and Z490 boards will be coming this June. According to a webinar provided by Bluechip, destined for its business partners, the Intel And AMD Chipset Roadmap shows what the rest of the years looks for both companies, with some more plans being revealed along the way. As you can see from the Intel And AMD Chip Set Update below, AMD Raven Ridge APUs in February, the second wave of Coffee Lake CPUs in April, and the second generation Ryzen CPUs also in April. What’s most important though is the AMD Z490 board though, coming this June. The Z490 Chipset is not much different from the AMD’s flagship X470 chipset except for the PCIe lanes as the Z490 has 4 additional PCIe 3.0 lanes which is something that would benefit those who like to use multiple GPUs. Furthermore, the Intel Z390 chipset is set to release … [Read more...] about Intel And AMD Chipset Roadmap Reveals Z390 And Z490 Release Date
There has been more than one leak suggesting that Intel is getting ready to launch an 8-core Coffee Lake processor, though the strongest evidence to date is a series of technical document listings on the company's website.A user on Reddit discovered the listings, of which there are three that reference an unreleased "Coffee Lake S 8+2" part. Unless Intel suddenly changed its nomenclature, the 8+2 designation points to there being 8 CPU cores and 2 integrated GPU cores on this particular chip. For reference, CPUs like the Core i7-8700K are listed as being Coffee Lake S 6+2 parts, indicating 6 CPU cores and 2 integrated GPU cores.Unfortunately the documents themselves sit behind a login page, presumably for registered developers, so we can't click through and view them. However, since the listings appear under Intel's "8th Generation Technical Library," the assumption is that the 8-core part(s) will be marketed and sold under that generation. We can further extrapolate that they will be … [Read more...] about Intel’s technical documents hint at 8-core Coffee Lake CPUs launching this year
People have been asking whether they should build an Intel Coffee Lake system or if they should wait for Cannon Lake to come out first. If that is indeed the question that you are asking yourself then you have come to the right place as that is what we are going to talk about here. If you have an older system then you might want to upgrade your CPU especially if you have 2 cores. The latest series of CPUs come with 4 cores as standard in the mainstream lineup and the number goes up to 6 if you are going for higher-end CPUs. Having that said, I can see why you would ask yourself this question. To make things simple let me tell you that Cannon Lake CPUs for desktops are not coming out so unless you are thinking about a laptop upgrade there is no use thinking about Canon Lake. What you should be thinking about is Ice Lake. When it comes to Ice Lake we have not release date or release bracket for that matter. Intel is having issues with the 10nm process and it has been delayed time and … [Read more...] about Should You Build An Intel Coffee Lake System Now Or Wait For Cannon Lake?
People have been stuck with Z370 motherboards for some time now, which are of no use if you own an Intel Coffee Lake CPU with a locked multiplier but now we are getting word of the new wave of mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs, the Core i3-8300 and Core i5-8500. According to new listings, these CPUs will be coming out on February 14th and if that is indeed the case then the mainstream B360/H370 and H310 motherboards will be coming out to accompany them as well. Having that said, you should take this information with a grain of salt as this release date has not been confirmed by Intel. Mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs Coming February 14 The upcoming Mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs will costs between 51 to 264 USD depending on the SKU that you opt for and you will be glad to know that even the Pentium G5000 series CPUs will not feature 4 core and 4 threads. These chips will come with 4MB of cache and the clock speeds will vary from 3.7 GHz to 3.9 GHz. Celeron G4920 and G4900 will be … [Read more...] about Intel Coffee Lake Core i3-8300 And Core i5-8500 Coming February 14?
