The second-gen AMD Ryzen processors launched earlier this year but the Ryzen 7 2800X was nowhere to be seen. That doesn’t mean a higher spec Ryzen processor is not potentially waiting in the wings, with AMD’s old GM, Jim Anderson, annoucing it could well appear “someday.” At a pre-Ryzen 2 launch event Jim Anderson was asked why AMD had decided to use the Ryzen 7 2700X as the top model released in the first wave of Pinnacle Ridge processors. “We felt like, with the 2700X and 2700 at the performance and price points, we had that space covered,” explains Anderson. “We just felt that with those two SKUs we had it sufficiently covered where we wanted to position the product.” And AMD has got that space covered well, with the 2700X making it essentially impossible to recommend the competing Core i7 8700K. “That doesn’t preclude a 2800X someday, right, maybe,” Anderson continues cryptically. “But … [Read more...] about AMD is holding back the Ryzen 7 2800X for the 8-core Intel Coffee Lake battle royale
Intel coffee lake release date
We recently got a roadmap that showed that 9th generation Intel Coffee Lake S 8 Core CPUs, namely the Intel Core i9-9900K, i7-9700K and i5-9600K would be coming out before the end of the year but now we have got another roadmap that shows that the Intel Coffee Lake S chips could be coming out in October. If this is indeed true then the chips will be coming out sooner than expected and that is what Intel needs right now, to bring something to market as soon as possible. That information was supposedly from a leaked Intel roadmap and so is this information but this one seems to be different than the previous one which is a bit fishy. You can check out the Intel Coffee Lake S 8 Core CPUs roadmap below and decide on your own which one is giving us the right information: PreviousNext According to the new roadmap the Core-X series (Basin Falls Refresh) will also launch in October, alongside the 9th generation Intel Coffee Lake S 8 Core CPUs. Core-X series will … [Read more...] about 9th Generation Intel Coffee Lake S 8 Core CPUs Release Date Leaked
Intel’s 8th generation of Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs are in full swing. Officially launched in October 2017 under the umbrella term ‘Coffee Lake’, these are the CPUs powering almost every new PC and laptop you can buy today. There’s a smaller subset using AMD’s Ryzen+ CPUs (which have plenty to recommend them if you have a gander at our Ryzen 5 2600/2600X and Ryzen 7 2700/2700X reviews), but for the most part, Intel pretty much rule the roost when it comes to processors. For those who don’t already know the ins and out of Coffee Lake (or feel in a need of a refresher), I’ve put together this helpful guide to fill in everything you need to know about Intel’s 8th Gen CPUs. This includes the price and specs of all the Coffee Lake processors you can buy right now, what separates a Coffee Lake from a Kaby Lake/Skylake/Cannon Lake and all other manner of ‘lakes’, which motherboards work with Coffee Lake, and a quick look … [Read more...] about Intel Coffee Lake: Everything you need to know about Intel’s 8th Gen Core CPUs
People have been asking whether they should build an Intel Coffee Lake system or if they should wait for Cannon Lake to come out first. If that is indeed the question that you are asking yourself then you have come to the right place as that is what we are going to talk about here. If you have an older system then you might want to upgrade your CPU especially if you have 2 cores. The latest series of CPUs come with 4 cores as standard in the mainstream lineup and the number goes up to 6 if you are going for higher-end CPUs. Having that said, I can see why you would ask yourself this question. To make things simple let me tell you that Cannon Lake CPUs for desktops are not coming out so unless you are thinking about a laptop upgrade there is no use thinking about Canon Lake. What you should be thinking about is Ice Lake. When it comes to Ice Lake we have not release date or release bracket for that matter. Intel is having issues with the 10nm process and it has been delayed time and … [Read more...] about Should You Build An Intel Coffee Lake System Now Or Wait For Cannon Lake?
People have been stuck with Z370 motherboards for some time now, which are of no use if you own an Intel Coffee Lake CPU with a locked multiplier but now we are getting word of the new wave of mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs, the Core i3-8300 and Core i5-8500. According to new listings, these CPUs will be coming out on February 14th and if that is indeed the case then the mainstream B360/H370 and H310 motherboards will be coming out to accompany them as well. Having that said, you should take this information with a grain of salt as this release date has not been confirmed by Intel. Mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs Coming February 14 The upcoming Mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs will costs between 51 to 264 USD depending on the SKU that you opt for and you will be glad to know that even the Pentium G5000 series CPUs will not feature 4 core and 4 threads. These chips will come with 4MB of cache and the clock speeds will vary from 3.7 GHz to 3.9 GHz. Celeron G4920 and G4900 will be … [Read more...] about Intel Coffee Lake Core i3-8300 And Core i5-8500 Coming February 14?
