Call of Duty: Space Wars. Orbital Ops, maybe. Post-Modern Warfare. Space Warfare? Probably not that one. Whatever the name might be, there have been rumours and suggestions of a space-based Call of Duty for several years and it seems increasingly likely that this year’s Infinity Ward release might be that game. I hope the moon explodes in at least one mission. Whatever the name might be, there have been rumours and suggestions of a space-based Call of Duty for several years, and developers Infinity Ward are expected to release the next game in the series toward the end of 2016. The studio have been talking about the possibility of heading into space since 2013, when (now ex) producer Mark Rubin said, “Everything’s on the table…If we think that it’d be cool to have a battle over Jupiter, sure. Why not?” Welcoming the New Year, Infinity Ward talked about “new heights”, with an astronaut taking centre stage in their celebratory image. Sure, … [Read more...] about This Year, Call Of Duty May Be Heading To Space
A new job listing for Call of Duty 2018 suggests that the series is stepping back into the modern era next year, after Call of Duty: WWII‘s short dalliance with World War II. The job listing was posted by Call of Duty developer Treyarch Studios. Treyarch is the developer launching the series’ next installment, assuming publisher Activision follows its regular three-developer release cycle. In the description for the job listing, it asks for a developer with a “deep knowledge base of firearms and modern military technology.” It may not be official confirmation of Call of Duty 2018’s setting, but it seems unlikely the developer would need someone experienced in modern technology if it wasn’t set in modern day. The image of the Treyarch job listing was found on the Imgur profile of user thermikz. The developer hand-off could result in 2018’s Call of Duty stepping out of the historical setting, but that doesn’t mean Call of … [Read more...] about Next year’s Call of Duty might be set in era we haven’t seen in years
Future Call of Duty installments could continue with the series’ latest World War II setting, according to a recent interview with Activision. Speaking with Game Informer, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg discussed why the publisher decided to bring the series back to the popular setting of World War II, and what it has planned for the series going forward. When asked if the World War II setting was a “one-off” idea to satisfy older fans, or if it establishes a new direction for the series, Hirshberg explained that Call of Duty is likely not done with historical settings. “Well, you know I can’t reveal things on the slate that are several years off,” Hirshberg said, “but no I don’t necessarily see it as a one-off; I think that World War II and historical settings more broadly are very rich territory, and I think there’s every possibility that that could become an area that we explore more than once.” The CEO was … [Read more...] about Call of Duty may be sticking to World War II for a while

Titanfall has been a quite polarizing topic as of late, polarizing enough to put even industry insiders on opposed fronts. Earlier today Ahsan Rasheed, AKA Thuway, mentioned that the "rumor around the block" is that Sony is trying hard to bring Titanfall to PlayStation platforms, while Microsoft is attempting to secure the game completely. He also encouraged fans to "make noise" to support the switch. Another industry insider, Pete Dodd, also known as Famousmortimer, directly denied what the other said about the possibility of a PlayStation port: Guys, Microsoft bought exclusivity for titanfall 1. Tweeting at Sony or zampella won't change that fact. It's a done deal. If you want to play titanfall one you need a 360, xb1, or a capable pc. If you only own a ps4, you are sh*t out of luck until Titanfall 2. I have no idea why @thuway is trying to make people think otherwise. Titanfall isn't coming to the ps4. It sucks but it's a fact. Titanfall 2 will. Dodd continued by saying … [Read more...] about Titanfalls Microsoft Exclusivity Deal: Insiders Clash on Whether The Game Can be Brought to PS4

This seems to imply that playing on a friends console could also including logging in as your own account to bring your settings, identities, and persona with you. Here's a look at what the document says: Nintendo Accounts The accounts are device-spanning network accounts that can also be used from PCs and smart devices. Users can log in to their accounts using a Nintendo Network ID (NNID) or via external services … [Read more...] about Nintendo Switch Accounts can be Linked to Multiple Systems
Monday, 13 February 2017 10:18 GMT By Lewis Burnell No one wants to be left on the sidelines. “Despite the meta fluctuating since launch, the core lineup has seldom shifted. Although the introduction of Ana has displaced Mercy into the realms of obscurity, there are still 8 Heroes who are rarely chosen competitively.” Last week I wrote about the delivery of new Heroes to Overwatch. It generated a great deal of discussion, with a relatively even split between those who wanted more, and those who were happy with the current delivery rate. What was evident however was the general consensus that many of the existing Overwatch Heroes not only needed improvements to their kit, but some who have remained “must have” for so long, they may need rebalancing. Having played Overwatch since it opened its doors, parting with my cash like many millions of others, it has been apparent from day one that certain Heroes were vastly superior to their counterparts. While there … [Read more...] about Overwatch: what can be done to balance the 13 rarely picked heroes?
