The first trailer for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It has been released. The latest movie in the hugely successful horror franchise hits theaters and HBO Max on July 4. The new Conjuring movie sees the return of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the paranormal investigators played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The film focuses on the real-life case of David Gretzel, an 11-year-old who the Warrens performed an exorcism on in 1981. Five months later, the boyfriend of David's sister murdered his landlord, and the defence at his trial attempted to argue that he was possessed by the same demon, which had moved hosts after leaving David. The trailer suggests that while the film is using the real-life case as its basis, it will be a full-blown supernatural horror movie with all the possession, jump-scares, and tie-ins to the wider Conjuring universe that you'd expect.
