Today Ready at Dawn dropped more information and enigmas in The Order: 1886’s alternate reality website, and things are definitely getting intersting. After the involvement of Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison, a third historical scientist makes his appearance with Charles Dawrin: Folded within the pages of the journal, a major find: a letter from Charles Darwin, Mr. Evolution himself… adding confusion is the code on the second page – it’s the same one Ian’s great-grandfather uses in his journal. Did Darwin write this or was it added later? The letter says (thanks to Brad):Dear Lord Hastings,I write to you in this moment of triumph in order to inform you of a discovery during my expedition, of half breed specimens we have unearthed at the remains of a settlement in New Guinea. The particulars of these findings I shall hope to share with you as soon as I am able as they will add greatly to what we currently [unreadable] to know … [Read more...] about PS4 Exclusive The Order: 1886 Teases Darwin’s Involvement; Gets New Pictures; Draws Crowds in Taiwan

Arrray of TranquilityEvery two weeks, PC Gamer Pro takes your deepest, most personal Dota questions and delivers them to the personalities that can help. You can find last week's set right here. This week, PyrionFlax talks in-game voice, the removal of guilds, right clicking exactly one time, and why your MMR is probably right even though you don’t want it to be.If you'd like to send us a question for next week, email [email protected] with 'GAME IS HARD' in your subject line. It would be awesome if it was either (a) not a tech support query directed at Valve or (b) not about why your MMR is wrong. From Marina: I've got a question regarding communication: I'm a girl and I'm completely terrified of using the in-game mic, as I've had a couple of matches completely ruined because of that. I usually just type in chat my intentions but I don't feel like that's enough. I just really, really want to win a match, but my teammates are busy throwing games and calling me names … [Read more...] about Your Dota 2 questions answered, vol. 3: with PyrionFlax!
Thanks to the Ryzen 7 1800X, and its ilk, Bulldozer feels almost like a long-forgotten dream. Now that AMD's Ryzen CPU tech is here to lay to rest those long, nightmarish days of lacklustre AMD processors genuine competition in the CPU space is here again. The top-end Ryzen 7 1800X offers serious computational grunt for half the price of its Intel rivals, though is still no wonder gaming chip. The CPU is only one half of the PC picture, you’ll also need the best graphics card to support your shiny new processor. It’s hard to believe it’s been quite so long in the CPU wilderness for AMD, but since they gambled early on pushing thread-count ahead of single-core performance with the Bulldozer architecture Intel have ruled the roost. Admittedly the Zen architecture is arguably doing the same thing, pushing the industry forwards towards a cheaper multi-core future, but the timing for that is now arguably better, and AMD have also made moves to shore up … [Read more...] about AMD Ryzen 7 1800X review: robust symbol of a resurgent AMD, but still no gaming CPU

Is capitalism in all its ghastly splendour is to blame? Or is it just us, we first-world punters, who have a problem with our priorities? I’m not sure. But what I do know is that, while parts of the world can’t get the basic human rights thing worked out, we’ve sure as hell nailed it when it comes to choice in the PC monitor market. 4K, adaptive-sync, 144Hz, curved screens, superwide aspect ratio – where to begin? And how can you end up with the right screen for you?You see, I’m no latter-day socio-economic sage. But I can tell you which of this new-fangled monitor malarkey actually matters. So, who’s with me for some LCD-themed retail therapy? As I perused the lovely new BenQ GW2765HT the other day, it did rather strike me that this was surely good enough. 27 inches. 2,560 by 1,440 pixels. A pitch-perfect IPS panel. And all for £275 / $375. I’m in. BenQ’s GW2765HT is probably all the monitor you actually needHence the hand wringing … [Read more...] about The 2015 PC Gaming Monitor Mega Guide
