BBC America just debuted the first trailer for Killing Eve season 2, teasing new locations, a mystery character and an intriguing, evolving, dynamic between MI5 security official Eve Polastri and assassin Villanelle. Season 1 of the BBC's blackly comic crime drama, scripted by Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, scooped multiple critical awards including the Guardian's best TV show of 2018, and season 2 picks up immediately where the last episode left off. The trailer's big (non) surprise, is that the psychotic Villanelle (played by Jodie Comer) is recuperating from her dramatic meeting with Eve, but mystery surrounds a unknown character, a taxi collision and - a quite spectacular - lederhosen piggy outfit, presumably worn by Villanelle. It’s only two episodes old, but Westworld season 2 already has more twists and turns than Armistice’s tattoo. We know Bernard has killed all the Hosts, somehow, and now the Man in Black / William is talking about having built ‘something’ in the park that could be a huge threat to everyone in it. It’s likely the thing Ford - speaking via his robot boy in episode 1 - was referring too when he told the Man in Black that they’re playing a new game, and this one is definitely made for him. Westworld Season 2, Episode 2 Review: Should Have Been The Premiere
Westworld Season 2, Episode 2, "Reunion," left me with one overwhelming feeling: I wish this had been the Season 2 premiere. Episode 2 had the exact right mix of exposition, flashback, action, and mystery that made Westworld Season 1 impossible to turn away from, and which the Season 2 premiere's 70 long minutes of weirdly paced setup lacked. At least we're back in the saddle now.The episode's opening, with Dolores in the real world, is a perfect example. This scene showed us new sides of both Dolores and Arnold, revealing that Dolores has actually seen the world outside the park before. And now she remembers; "I've been there before," she tells Teddy later in the ep. That's clearly going to come up later.There is one mystery here, depending how you read the scene: Is this really the outside world, or is it just another park? The exterior shots as Arnold leads Dolores across the street look uncanny, too clean, and filled with unnatural, robotic-looking people.
