report this adJust a couple of days ago, BioWare chose to give its fans looking forward to Anthem a better idea of what they should expect out of their visits to Fort Tarsis, by releasing some gameplay footage detailing the hub world’s environments, key characters, and more. Now, the video game developer has decided to show potential players what some of the action out in the field will be like by sharing roughly 10 minutes of new gameplay showcasing the activities of a high level side quest. The latest footage from Anthem sets up the quest known as “Hidden Depths” by first featuring a look at a Freelancer’s exchange with the non-playable character Matthias issuing the mission, as he charges them with the task of finding a lost manuscript in a tower’s vault on a high mountaintop. Xbox Scarlet is the code name of the upcoming console that Microsoft is working on and it is in the development phase as we speak. According to news sources, the Xbox Scarlet is going to be another monster. While the Xbox One X was a monster as compared to the base model, this upcoming next-generation console should be a monster compared to the One X. According to the new information that has been provided the Xbox Scarlet will come with High-Level Shader Language which should take things to the next level and build on what the Xbox One X has to offer. We also hear that the console will be able to deliver Nvidia RTX Ray Tracing and that this is going to be the secret weapon of the console. This is interesting because Xbox uses AMD graphics solutions and Nvidia Ra Tracing is something that is exclusive to Nvidia. While I get that Microsoft could switch to Nvidia in order to power the Xbox Scarlet and take advantage of Nvidia RTX, it is highly unlikely. Support for … [Read more...] about Xbox Scarlet To Feature Ray Tracing And High Level Shader Language
Several months ago, Gun Media and IllFonic teased the inclusion of weapon swapping in the asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror title Friday the 13th: The Game, with players eventually being able to mix and match weapons and kills between the different Jason skins. Now, however, it looks as if the feature might be something that fans will have to spend a lot of time grinding for, as the aforementioned companies plan on locking it behind a very high level. As seen in the tweet below from the official Friday the 13th: The Game Twitter account, what has been dubbed “Jason Weapon Selection” will be unlocked after hitting level 113, with the character’s Strengths and Weaknesses being tied to Jason and not the weapons themselves. While Gun Media and IllFonic might see this decision as a fair way for players to earn the ability to make their own signature Jason loadouts, many are miffed at the prospect of it being so difficult to attain. Jason Weapon Selection is a level … [Read more...] about Friday the 13th’s Weapon Swapping Locked Behind Very High Level

This was originally published back in PC Gamer 305 in April 2017, and here it's presented online for the first time. Subscribe to the US and UK magazines for more features like this, designed beautifully for print and digital. Reading the reviews of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, I noticed a trend. Almost every one of them, including my own, mentioned one level in particular: the Palisade Bank. This dense, complex map is arguably the highlight of the game, and a neat microcosm of everything I love about Deus Ex. It's an intricate web of security systems and shortcuts, with severe brutalist architecture and gleaming marble floors. And the first time I set foot in it, the urge to cause trouble and test the limits of the security was irresistible. The design of the Palisade Bank level was led by Clémence Maurer, who worked on it from the earliest concept to its completion. "It was always planned," she tells me. "We have a high-level story document called the blueprint, which details … [Read more...] about Making Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s best level, the Palisade Bank
