Laura Linney revealed she’s not quite ready to say goodbye to Ozark yet. Not only did the Wendy Byrde actor say that she’d sign up for more episodes, but she also explained she’s yet to watch the season 4 finale. Ozark came to a climactic end on Netflix back in April with a dramatic – and tragic for some – final episode. "I haven’t seen it," Linney told Vulture (opens in new tab) when she was asked about her thoughts on it. "I don’t know what they chose. I’m very bad at watching myself and I’m particularly bad at watching things that I really loved doing because it’s going to change the minute I see it. I really can’t comment on it." The star was then quizzed on what the different endings to the show were, which she shut down over her comment on the moments they "chose" in the finale. Linney replied: "No. I’m not going to do that," explaining she doesn’t think it’s her job to comment on viewer reactions to the show. While we might not ever find this out, it is … [Read more...] about Laura Linney reveals she hasn’t watched the Ozark finale as she addresses alternate endings

Shenmue Creator Yu Suzuki Explains The Giant Flying Swans Of Air Twister
Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue, Space Harrier, and many other games, is releasing his latest, Air Twister, via Apple Arcade on June 24. Ahead of its release, we spent some time with the game and even had the chance to speak with Suzuki through a translator about the dream-like experience wherein you ride giant swans across alien landscapes. Suzuki confirmed some of the game's details--like protagonist Princess Arch’s size and what classic children’s novel served as the game’s main inspiration--and talked about how much he enjoyed one of GameSpot’s top 10 games of 2021 , It Takes Two. I've been playing Air Twister and it is bizarre. Is that how you thought people would react to it? Yu Suzuki: I didn't really know what people would expect. I just made the game. That's normal for me. Air Twister feels a bit like you're playing an interactive dream. Was that the intention? Thank you very much. I appreciate your comment. Yeah, not particularly. I wasn't really thinking that … [Read more...] about Shenmue Creator Yu Suzuki Explains The Giant Flying Swans Of Air Twister
Superman: Space Age is historical fiction about ‘hope against the backdrop of hopelessness’
The DC Universe has seen its fair share of Crises , including the current Dark Crisis , but none are more iconic than 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earths. That's why it's the endpoint for Mark Russell and Mike Allred's Superman: Space Age , a three-part limited series that explores Superman's life in the context of real-world historical events, all leading up to Crisis. Each graphic novel-length entry in Superman: Space Age explores a different decade of Superman's history, starting with the '60s. As Clark Kent struggles to follow advice from both of his fathers – Jor-El and Jonathan Kent – the world around him approaches a major turning point in which the simple click of a button could change everything. Ahead of the publication of Superman: Space Age #1 in July, Newsarama spoke with Russell and Allred about Crisis, hope, and what Superman means to them. (opens in new tab) Samantha Puc for Newsarama: Mark and Mike, what inspired you to want to return to Crisis … [Read more...] about Superman: Space Age is historical fiction about ‘hope against the backdrop of hopelessness’
The original Assassins Creed horses are “just twisted f***ed up human skeletons”
A former Assassin's Creed's developer has revealed that the original games' horses are, essentially, "just a twisted f**ked up human skeleton", alongside some other harrowing development titbits. Game developer Charles Randall explains on Twitter that the team had to improvise when creating horses for the game due to technical limitations. As such, they mangled the model of a human skeleton to make it look like a horse (thanks, RPS (opens in new tab) ). "Cheers to the amazing animators and riggers that managed to make that guy look like a horse," Randall tweets. Ubisoft also didn't have the budget for a custom skeleton or mesh for a one-armed character called Malik, leading the developers to turn one of his arms inside out to give the illusion the appendage was missing. "I assume if you could get the camera to clip into him you'd see a tiny little scrunched up arm inside the bicep," he adds. Also the horse in AC1 was just a twisted fucked up human skeleton, … [Read more...] about The original Assassins Creed horses are “just twisted f***ed up human skeletons”
Assassin’s Creed Horses Were Actually Twisted Human Skeletons, Dev Reveals
Like most sandbox games, 2007's Assassin's Creed gave you access to a horse that could help you get around the map more quickly. What you might not have known, though, is that Altair's steed was in fact a human skeleton that Ubisoft's engineers had stretched out and transformed into a horse due to the developer's tools only supporting bipedal characters. "The horse in AC1 was just a twisted f***ed-up human skeleton because our tool chain only worked with biped in 3ds max," former Ubisoft developer Charles Randall tweeted . "Cheers to the amazing animators and riggers that managed to make that guy look like a horse!" Randall also shared a few other non-nightmare fuel stories from the development of Assassin's Creed. For the character of Malik, who only had one arm, Ubisoft didn't have the budget for a custom skeleton so the solution was to turn his extra limb inside out and push it up into his abdomen. "I assume if you could get the camera to clip into him you'd see a tiny little … [Read more...] about Assassin’s Creed Horses Were Actually Twisted Human Skeletons, Dev Reveals
John Williams implies Indiana Jones 5 will be his and Harrison Ford’s last film
John Williams has seemingly revealed that Indiana Jones 5 will be his final film as a movie composer – and Harrison Ford may be following him into retirement. Williams, who can count the likes of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Jaws among his most iconic scores, told Associated Press (opens in new tab) , "At the moment I’m working on Indiana Jones 5, which Harrison Ford – who’s quite a bit younger than I am — I think has announced will be his last film. So, I thought: If Harrison can do it, then perhaps I can, also." It’s worth noting, however, that nothing is official at this stage for the composer, who got his first break in the industry with 1958’s Daddy-O. "I don’t want to be seen as categorically eliminating any activity," he said. "I can’t play tennis, but I like to be able to believe that maybe one day I will." Ford, meanwhile, hasn’t announced his future career plans – nor if Indy 5 will be his last crack at the whip. He is set to return as the famous … [Read more...] about John Williams implies Indiana Jones 5 will be his and Harrison Ford’s last film

How Elden Ring, The Hobbit, and Guitar Hero are shaping Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, the upcoming Soulslike from A44 Games, is a melting pot of ideas and inspirations. For one, it's the indirect follow-up to the developer's 2018 action role-player Ashen – a thoughtful slant on the genre which, whilst far from revolutionary, is a wonderful example of the formula executed well. The New Zealand outfit's next outing is also a Soulslike game, built in the looming shadow of Elden Ring – the biggest, most ambitious project Dark Souls mastermind FromSoftware has ever crafted, one which has undoubtedly set a new standard for other genre games to be compared against. And, in a previous life, members of the A44 Games team worked at Weta Digital, a special effects studio who helped bring the fantastical beasts of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit film series to life. Which is to say: the DNA that underwrites Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is multifaceted. And while creating a straight Ashen sequel might have an easier proposition for the developer's … [Read more...] about How Elden Ring, The Hobbit, and Guitar Hero are shaping Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
