Half life 2 episode 3
Fans of the Half Life franchise still have hopes for a Half Life 3 despite Valve confirming that the third entry is not in development. However, fans will have their hopes for a Half-Life 3 reignited as Half Life 2 co-writer has returned at Valve. Gabe Newell himself confirmed that Eric Wolpaw, co-writer for Portal and Half Life 2, has joined Valve. Wolpaw left Valve in 2017 along with other writers. However, it has been a while since Eric Wolpaw rejoined Valve as he is credited in Artifact, Valve card game. It is not known what the Half Life 2 co-writer is working on. However, a rumor is making rounds on the internet suggesting that Valve is working on Half Life VR. Given that Valve has started to develop its own games, there is a chance we might see a new entry in the Half Life franchise or a reboot of the Half Life series. But, given that this is just speculation, take it with a grain of salt until Valve itself confirms it. Interestingly, back in 2017, Marc Laidlaw revealed the … [Read more...] about Half Life 2 Co-Writer Returns At Valve, A Half Life Reboot Coming?
Last year Marc Laidlaw published a Half-Life 2: Episode 3 synopsis. Named 'Epistle 3', it contained similarly-named, gender-swapped characters from HL2 and explored the ex-Valve writer's vision of what might have been. Speaking to our sister site GamesRadar, Half-Life 2 writer Chet Faliszek says he was "surprised" by his one-time colleague's decision to publish his ideas. "I'll let Marc speak for that," Faliszek tells GR. "I… I was surprised by it coming out. I'll let Marc speak for that."Faliszek joined Worlds Adrift developer Bossa Studios last September, and wrote on Portal and Left 4 Dead way back when. Despite also writing for Half-Life 2, he tells GamesRadar he's never felt inclined to speculate about the game's elusive third episode—and even if he did, videogames are the work of entire teams, not individuals. "I think one of the things when you’re working in a company [like Valve] is the realisation that there’s a whole bunch of people … [Read more...] about Half-Life 2 writer ‘surprised’ by Marc Laidlaw’s decision to publish Episode 3 synopsis
In August 2017, former Valve writer Marc Laidlaw shared - in his words - a ‘fanfic’ plot outline for Half-Life 3. Code-named Epistle 3, the story swapped a few names around (Gordon Freeman was replaced by a female character called Gertie Fremont), but to all intents and purposes this is the closest we’ve come to resolving the events of 2007’s Half-Life 2: Episode 2. With its cliffhanger ending, Valve have left fans guessing at Gordon Freeman’s fate for over 11 years. At the recent Develop conference in Brighton, we caught up with Marc’s former Valve colleague – and fellow Half-Life series writer - Chet Faliszek, creative director at Bossa Studios. Was Chet surprised that Marc would choose to go public with his vision for a Half-Life sequel? “I’ll let Marc speak for that”, says Chet. “I… I was surprised by it coming out”, he adds, “I’ll let Marc speak for that”.How a Half-Life sequel might … [Read more...] about Half-Life 2 writer surprised by former colleague’s decision to publish ‘fanfic’ vision for Half-Life 3
Former Valve writer Marc Laidlaw outlined his ideas for the story of Half-Life 2: Episode 3 last August, a bizarre, bare-bones tale of a research vessel in the Antarctic that's phasing in and out of time and space. That led a team of die-hard fans to launch an effort to bring Laidlaw's vision to life in the form of Project Borealis, named after the ship at the center of Laidlaw's story. The team announced today that its first-draft take on Laidlaw's tale, which was at roughly the half-way point at the end of 2017, is now complete—and work has come along far enough that it has also released a short "in-engine" video showcasing weapons, movement, and flashlight animations. "The writing team has taken the plot points outlined in Marc Laidlaw’s Epistle 3 and fleshed out the details and gameplay elements into a full and engaging script," the Project Borelias team wrote. "Since finishing this first draft, the rest of the team have had the opportunity to give … [Read more...] about Half-Life 2: Episode 3 fan project gets finished script and ‘in-engine’ teaser
