Take-Two Interactive recently shared a significant sales feat achieved by its subsidiary company, Rockstar Games, as Grand Theft Auto 5 sales have supassed 90 million, with the developer set to release the hotly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 later this year to what many presume will be resounding success. That said, with the western action-adventure title surely being a major priority for Rockstar, some players might be concerned that when RDR2 does arrive, support for GTA Online could slow to a halt. According to Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick, Grand Theft Auto Online fans shouldn’t worry a bit about the matter, for when Red Dead Redemption 2 launches, GTA Online support will continue unabated. As Zelnick explained to the publisher’s investors during a recent quarterly earnings call, “Rockstar Games has said they intend to continue to support Grand Theft Auto Online, and that support of Grand Theft Auto Online has nothing to do with the … [Read more...] about Red Dead Redemption 2 Won’t Impact Grand Theft Auto Online Support

During Take-Two’s quarterly financial conference call, President Karl Slatoff gave more color on the publisher’s outlook for the Switch. Asked whether the company is considering porting more games to Nintendo’s console, Slatoff explained that Take-Two looks at development costs, whether a game is “right for the platform,” what does the audience look like, and the installed base, and when they believe there is an opportunity to do something more on Switch then we’ll hear that from the publisher’s labels. That being said, Take-Two is “impressed” with the growth of the console and its sales, and they’re “very sanguine” about it at this point, even if for now they have nothing specific to announce. Take-Two’s primary labels are Rockstar Games, known for Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, 2K Games, which is likely to release a new Borderlands in the next fiscal year, and the newly-revealed … [Read more...] about Grand Theft Auto Publisher “Very Sanguine” and “Impressed” about Nintendo Switch’s Growth and Sales
Not too long ago, a comprehensive report done by the video game industry research firm SuperData revealed that Rockstar Games’ open world action-adventure title Grand Theft Auto 5 managed to become the most lucrative game of 2017 despite its initial release way back in 2013. Now, Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has officially announced during a recent earnings call for its fiscal third quarter ending on December 31, 2017 that GTA 5 is indeed still alive and well, as it has surpassed 90 million units sold worldwide. To be specific, this most recent figure shared by Take-Two reflects that GTA 5 sold a whopping 15 million units in 2017 alone. Take Two says … [Read more...] about Grand Theft Auto 5 Sales Surpass 90 Million

Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time. My friends and I have three matching tattoos. One for each heist we pulled. The shooting, driving, rocket-launching and knife-criming sandbox of Grand Theft Auto Online is a jolly lark. But even the four player co-op heists have created fewer memories for me than the silliness of my friends when there’s no murdering to be done. That’s the dirty soul of GTA Online. It is a game of dicking about. Once, we all got into tiny swim shorts and went to the beach for a day out. Driving jetskis, diving off the pier, riding the rollercoaster. More recently we’ve been stuffing our faces with free snacks from the receptionist’s desk in a pal’s underground hideout. Rockstar have always been good at making a detailed city and, unlike the single player, the online mode lets me enjoy that city with people I don’t actually despise from the bottom of my spleen. … [Read more...] about Have You Played… Grand Theft Auto Online?
