I hope you’ve maxed out your tiers and nabbed that Black Knight costume in Fortnite: Battle Royale come sunset today, because season 2 is coming to a close, bringing an end to the Battle Pass as we know it. Battle Pass, for those who don't know, was an in-game purchase that allowed players to level up faster and earn more cosmetic items for Epic’s free-to-play Battle Royale mode. But the denouement of season 2 heralds in the new dawn of season 3, and introduces a brand new Battle Pass for Fortnite later this week. Epic has done its research, and has created something bigger, better, and more cost-effective for this new season of Battle Royale, with more tiers and a wider range of goodies to unlock, most of which have never been seen in the game before. The Battle Pass will have a total of 100 tiers to progress through, which is 30 more than last season, but Epic has confirmed that it’ll still take around the same amount of time (roughly 75 - 150 … [Read more...] about Fortnite: Battle Royale kicks off season 3 with a bigger, better Battle Pass filled with spacesuits, skydiving trails, and… loading screens?!

Last week, fans received a bittersweet announcement from Rockstar as the company finally announced a solid release date for its highly anticipated western. Unfortunately, the release date of October 26, 2018 also confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 had been once again delayed out of its expected Spring 2018 release window. While Rockstar isn’t saying anything beyond needing more polish time, new rumors have recently come out, some of which may explain the game needs more time in development. According to leaked documents obtained by Trusted Reviews, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to once again offer a robust online experience, though this time it’s also bringing a Battle Royale style mode with it. The leak, unfortunately, doesn’t have any additional details on how the mode will operate, whether it intends to be a more grounded experience like PUBG or a little more fast-paced like Fortnite. Still, the thought of charging other players on horseback is no … [Read more...] about Red Dead Redemption 2 Online Features Battle Royale Mode?
The latest limited-time event for Fortnite's Battle Royale mode is still going on, but it won't be around for much longer. The Sniper Shootout event concludes on February 2, making this your last opportunity to take part in it before the event rotates out of Epic's popular shooter. As you can gather from its name, Sniper Shootout revolves entirely around sniper rifles. During this event, all weapons on the map are replaced by sniper rifles, although you'll also be able to find and pick up revolvers to make close-range standoffs more manageable. Consumable items spawn as they normally would during Sniper Shootout, but grenades have been removed, forcing you to rely on the aforementioned weapons (and melee attacks) to dispatch opponents.Sniper Shootout kicked off earlier this week and marks the first time this particularly mode has been playable in Fortnite Battle Royale, so it remains to be seen if it'll become a regular part of the game's rotation. Epic has held several other … [Read more...] about Last Chance To Play Fortnite: Battle Royale’s Sniper Event
Due to some technical issues yesterday, many Fortnite fans encountered frustrations when they attempted to play the game, which has led to Epic Games promising players certain compensation for the server downtime. Following this, the company has now released the patch notes for the title’s next update, Version 2.4.0, and has confirmed the addition of Miniguns to the game’s Battle Royale mode. As seen in the full patch notes at the end of the article, the new Minigun weapon won’t be the only thing being brought forth in tomorrow’s update to Fortnite Battle Royale, as Epic Games also intends on using Version 2.4.0 to fix some lingering bugs found in the game. However, the company has acknowledged that the forthcoming patch won’t address any of the building issues some players have been experiencing, with Epic currently working on a solution to these problems. You may have noticed in the patch notes that there’s no fix in to solve the building issues … [Read more...] about Fortnite Battle Royale Update Adds Miniguns
When Epic added a battle royale mode to Fortnite in September last year, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds publisher Bluehole was pretty upset. "We are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known," said Chang Han Kim, then its executive producer and now CEO of PUBG Corporation, which today runs the breakout shooter. The press release listed concerns over similarities in user interface, gameplay and 'structural replication' between the two games, and made a vague threat about potential legal action, which hasn't apparently gone anywhere. Fortnite now has 45 million players, which is probably greater than the number which plays PUBG, and Battle Royale mode is what they play. That has to hurt. But it's not to say PUBG has much of a leg to stand on. "Look, I don't claim ownership," Brendan 'PlayerUnknown' Greene told Rock Paper Shotgun last summer. "So, it's a last-man standing deathmatch. That's been around since people could pick up clubs and hit each … [Read more...] about PUBG, Fortnite Battle Royale and the question of how new genres form
