By Kofi Outlaw - February 6, 2018 06:24 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Whenever a new Star Wars project is announced, there's a certain contingent of the fanbase that always makes the immediate jump to the same question: Are we finally going to get an adaptation of the Knights of the Old Republic games? The answer to that question has always been a resounding "No, Knights of the Old Republic isn't happening!" However, this time around, there's actual logic behind the speculation: It's just been announced that we're getting a new Star Wars film series from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the creators of Game of Thrones. Knights of the Old Republic is a part of the Star Wars saga that began as a Dark Horse comic book series in the '90s, before becoming a widely-popular series of video games in the early 2000s, running through 2011. The KOTOR story is set nearly 4,000 years before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, when a Sith army is on a campaign of destruction … [Read more...] about Are the ‘Game of Thrones’ Creators Making ‘Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic’ Movies?
By Patrick Cavanaugh - February 6, 2018 03:56 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Rian Johnson isn't the only filmmaker with a new series of Star Wars films on the way, with Disney announcing today that Game of Thrones co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are developing a series of new films unrelated to the Skywalker Saga. Additionally, these upcoming films will also be unrelated to Johnson's announced films. Benioff and Weiss will produce and direct the new films, with no release dates having been announced. It's also unclear how many films the pair will helm, as Disney didn't specify. “David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm in a statement. “Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.” “In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and … [Read more...] about New ‘Star Wars’ Series of Films Coming From ‘Game of Thrones’ Creators
By Robert Workman - December 26, 2018 04:48 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Earlier this month, Capcom riled up several fans of its fighting game Street Fighter V by announcing a promotion that would earn them additional fight currency for allowing in-game advertising. But it appears that the program wasn’t built to last, as it’s been done away with it rather quickly. At least, for now. A report from Eventhubs points out that the advertising and promotions for Street Fighter V are no longer running. It noted, “Trying to select colors 3-10 on an ‘Ad Style’ costume will currently give the error message, ‘The sponsor is currently not available, so you cannot use the selected color.’ On top of that, loading screen and stage advertisements have also been turned off.” There was a lot of negative feedback from fans with the program, even though it was optional. There is a chance that the publisher changed its mind with the … [Read more...] about ‘Street Fighter V’ Quietly Does Away With Its In-Game Advertising Program
By Cameron Bonomolo - September 14, 2019 09:11 pm EDT Share 1 Comments 1 In the wake of HBO’s adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novels that inspired eight seasons of Game of Thrones, Harry Potter movie saga star Matthew Lewis believes the seven-book epic penned by author J.K. Rowling would have “translated really well” into a television series. “I think that it would have actually served really well as a TV series. In the current era of right now, maybe not when it came out, but in the world of Game of Thrones and what HBO was doing, BBC America, all these kind of things — I think it actually would have translated really well,” Lewis said at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention. “As we’ll probably see with the Lord of the Rings stuff on Amazon. There’s so much wealth in the story, in the universe, it would have been nice to see a lot more of the Wizarding World itself.” The former Neville … [Read more...] about Harry Potter Star Says Books Would Translate Really Well as a TV Series After Game of Thrones
By Rollin Bishop - November 18, 2019 09:20 am EST Share 0 Comments 0 If a new rumor is to be believed, Valve is about to announce a new video game in the Half-Life franchise for the first time in years and years. Even more wild than that fact, which is far out there itself, this new Half-Life video game is rumored to be called Half-Life: Alyx, and it's a virtual reality game. A transcript of a conversation supposedly between Geoff Keighley, The Game Awards host that's previously done videos in conjunction with Valve, Valve's Robin Walker, and a third, unidentified party has been circulating online with all this information within it. The transcript states the VR game's name, offers a March 2020 release date, and more. You can check out a version of it making the rounds right here. But how accurate is this? Well, it supposedly traces back to the same person that leaked Valve's Dota Underlords ahead of time. It would appear that said leaker only has their hands … [Read more...] about Rumor: New Half-Life Game Announcement Imminent
