Valentine’s Day is a big deal in Japan. Perhaps, it’s even bigger than in the west, so it should be no surprise that most local games with an ongoing nature scramble to capitalize on the chocolate-driven occasion. DMM’s Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier is no exception. As a matter of fact, it got two separate events linked to the lovey-dovey holiday, and the first just concluded, to be replaced by the second. This is particularly yummy, as it isn’t just a celebration of waifus, mecha, and chocolate, but it also includes a free SRR character. Well… She is not entirely free as you need to drop her in the last mission of the event, but I already got three copies, so she’s easy. To be more precise, the pilot is a power-type valentine-themed Suzumiya Akane from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. She is a very good sniper, so I advise trying to grab her. Two more themed pilots are available via gacha only (both paid and with gems you can grind), … [Read more...] about Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier Gets More Waifus, Mecha and Chocolate in New Valentine Event

Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Attack on Titan Crossover Event Launches
Today DMM launched the previously-announced Attack on Titan crossover event in its mobile and browser game Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier. The event features several themed pilots and TSF mecha, and comes with a rather interesting storyline. Considering that Muv-Luv is a science-fiction series with giant robots fighting aliens, you’d think the crossover to be rather random, and you’d be wrong. First of all, the story already deals with alternate dimensions, so having its protagonists suddenly finding themselves in the world of Attack on Titan isn’t really all that shocking. More importantly, the two series have much in common, starting from the vision of humanity pushed to the brink of extinction by a relentless race of giant enemies. It’s not surprising that Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama has cited Muv-Luv as a major source of inspiration for his manga. The event welcomes you with a 10-day login bonus granting you HR versions of Eren Jaeger … [Read more...] about Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Attack on Titan Crossover Event Launches
Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Valentine Event Has Chocolate Mecha and Waifus
DMM mobile and browser game Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier just launched its Valentine’s Day event, bringing love and chocolate into the fray. Valentine’s Day in Japan is rather interesting, with its tradition for ladies to gift chocolate to their loved ones, often extended to friends and colleagues. This is often reflected in Japanese media including anime and video games, so you’re probably very familiar with it. Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier is no exception, and the new event started this week and extending into February 8th (which is way before Valentine’s Day, so it’s likely that we’ll get a part two) lets you grind missions for two… very special mecha. We get a chocolate-themed (flavored?) SSR Type 77 Gekishin and a Su-37UB Terminator. For those who are more interested in pilots, we also get two new ones, with Valentine versions of Inia Sestina from Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse and Katia … [Read more...] about Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Valentine Event Has Chocolate Mecha and Waifus
Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s All-Ages Version Finally Playable in the West Without VPN
Muv-Luv fans playing the mobile game Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier have always been plagued by a pretty annoying issue. Until now, only the R-rated version of the game was playable outside of Japan without having to use a VPN to mask foreign IP addresses. While we have nothing about R-rated versions of games, they’re certainly not for everyone, but now the issue has been removed. Yesterday we reported that DMM has released the Google Play and iOS ports of the All-Ages version of the game, but unfortunately, they are officially available only in Japan. The problem has been solved today for Android thanks to Qooapp, an Android app that lets you download and install a myriad of games from Japan and Asia, bypassing Google’s regional block. This morning they added Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier, making the game easily accessible without having to tinker with your phones and using VPNs or proxies. The added bonus is that, unlike the previous non-Google … [Read more...] about Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s All-Ages Version Finally Playable in the West Without VPN
Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Google App and iOS Versions Get Release Date
If you like the Waifu+Mecha combination, pretty much no franchise is better than Muv-Luv, and following the announcement that Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier was going to get a Google App and an iOS version this month, today we finally got the actual release date. Those who would like to play on Apple’s phones and on their PC without having to use the slightly unwieldy browser version will have to wait just one more week, as the two ports will launch on next week January 18th. As usual, the game will be only in Japanese, but it’s easy to enjoy it without really knowing the language, and I’ll probably write one of my handy guides after the release of the new platforms. In other related news, today the game received a new event titled Final Battle in the Extreme North – Unknown –, which is all about Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. This lets me see Fikatsia Latrova in action once more, so that puts quite the smile on my … [Read more...] about Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Google App and iOS Versions Get Release Date
