To The Moon is being made into a full-fat animated film, developer Freebird Games announced today. The studio says the film has been in the works for two years and that production is now officially underway, with Chinese company Ultron Event Horizon providing the funding for the Japanese studios creating it. Freebird didn't specify who's working on the film, but in his announcement video, To The Moon creator Kan Gao said the "first-tier" studios involved are "pretty big players in the [Japanese] animation industry." If I were a betting man, I'd bet on A-1 Pictures, the studio behind other videogame adaptations like the Persona 3 films and the Brotherhood: Final Fantasy 15 animated series, as well as recent shorts like Shelter. We Happy Few Delayed, New Release Window Announced
In an update today, We Happy Few developers announced that they need a few more months to polish up the highly anticipated dystopian survival game before it would be ready for retail release later this year. The game was originally slated to release in April 2018, and is now set to release sometime this summer. We Happy Few hit Kickstarter in June 2016, and has been in Early Access since July 2016. According to the developers, the game is now “content complete” but needs more fine-tuning and polish before it reaches public hands. In a developer update video, Chief Operating Officer Sam Abbott and Creative Director Guillaume Provost sat down to discuss these changes and explain the reasons behind the delay. The big changes are in the first few hours of the game, focusing on the narrative elements of one of the main characters, Arthur. Fantastic Beasts 2: New Images Released, Including Another Look At Young Dumbledore
The success of 2016's Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them proved that movies set in the world of Harry Potter can succeed without the boy wizard. The sequel is titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and it hit theaters later this year. We're still waiting for a trailer, but in the meantime, Warner has released some new images.Most of the movie's main characters are featured, including the young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law), the villainous Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Vinda Rosier (Poppy Corby-Tuech), Tina (Katherine Waterston), and Jacob (Dan Fogler).
