PS Plus Is Getting Tiers The biggest change PS Plus users are going to have to get used to is the new tiers coming. Since its inception, PS Plus has always been one offering that gave the same benefits to everyone who bought in--online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, cloud storage, and most importantly, free monthly games. With the PS5, PlayStation even added the PS Plus Collection, which brought a number of PS4 titles to PS5 users for free as long as they maintained a subscription. New PS Plus Will Let You Play PSP And Original PlayStation Games You Digitally Own Without Subscription
One of the big perks of the new tiered PlayStation Plus subscription service is emulation-based support for older games like the PS1 and PSP. But you don't necessarily need to pay a subscription service to play some older games. According to new details released today, if you own those games digitally, you can play them on PS4 and PS5 without paying the Plus subscription fee. "When these titles are released for PS4 and PS5, players can head to PlayStation Store and download a version for the consoles at no extra cost if they already own the digital version of the title," Sony said in the blog post announcing a partial line-up . "Some of the titles will also be available for individual purchase." Sony didn't detail a full list of games, or which ones will be available for individual purchase. It did release a partial list of games that includes classics like Ape Escape and Hot Shots Golf, alongside remasters of games like Jak 2 and Jack 3, as well as Rogue Galaxy. The revised … [Read more...] about New PS Plus Will Let You Play PSP And Original PlayStation Games You Digitally Own Without Subscription
Kingdom Hearts 4 Director Explains The Game’s More Realistic Design
Kingdom Hearts IV looks set to introduce a few graphical changes to the long-running series, which includes a more mature look for protagonist Sora and other updated visual tweaks. In a new interview with Famitsu that was translated by VGC , series creator Tetsuya Nomura spoke about these changes and the world of Quadratum, which serves as an afterlife of sorts. "From Sora's perspective, Quadratum is an underworld, a fictional world that is different from reality, Nomura said. "But from the point of view of the inhabitants on the Quadratum side, the world of Quadratum is reality, and the world where Sora and the others were is the other side, the fictional world." Nomura added that Goofy and Donald Duck are searching for Sora in Kingdom Hearts IV , and if he were to return to his original reality, he'd start to resemble his more cartoonish design again so that he could fit back into his world. Oversized shoes and all. As fans have discovered, Quadratum has been referenced … [Read more...] about Kingdom Hearts 4 Director Explains The Game’s More Realistic Design

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – the story behind the biggest game of the year
Everything was Uncharted. You’ll have seen the jokes, no doubt – the ones that pointed out how many games at E3 2012 seemed to be based on an external interpretation of the Naughty Dog design document. That show brought a host of linear games built on tightly scripted spectacle, sacrificing player agency for the whims of a stubborn author. The complaint was aimed at other developers, at an industry in thrall to the cookie cutter, but it stung Naughty Dog by extension as well. Many of those games have since turned out to be nothing like Uncharted. At December’s PlayStation Experience (PSX) event, filmed live in Vegas and streamed around the world, Naughty Dog suggested Uncharted 4 wasn’t, in the E3 2012 pejorative sense of the term, very Uncharted either. Over the course of a day inside the Santa Monica studio, we are shown the proof of it. Within half an hour, game director Bruce Straley has summed it up perfectly. “There’s no one golden path,” he tells us. “It’s not just as simple as … [Read more...] about Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – the story behind the biggest game of the year

In its latest financial results report, Remedy Entertainment provided brief updates on several games under development at the independent studio. While CrossfireX continues to be supported by a "dedicated" team according to CEO Tero Virtala, Remedy is currently working on Alan Wake 2, remakes of the first two Max Payne games, Vanguard, and Control spin-offs. Out of all these games, Alan Wake 2 appears to be the closest, currently on track to release in 2023. "Alan Wake 2 is in the full production stage," Virtala said during the briefing . "A lot of work remains, but the game is starting to take a more complete form in many areas. As communicated earlier, Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023." Codename Vanguard, a free-to-play cooperative game, is currently being co-developed in cooperation with Tencent and is making "good progress", while the Max Payne remakes and Control spin-offs are currently in proof-of-concept stages of development. These games are likely to release by 2025, … [Read more...] about Alan Wake 2 Is Set To Release Next Year, Control Sequel Or Max Payne Remake By 2025
Diablo III Q&A: The Diablo Mouse and Exploring Lore
While a lucky few Diablo III fans have been able to get a hands-on feel for the long-anticipated sequel with the recent beta, those who missed out on keys have only the game's nebulous "when it's done" 2012 shipping date to look forward to. Multiple Silent Hill Projects Are Rumored To Be In Development
Silent Hill rumors continue to swirl. Following last week's leaked Silent Hill art , journalist Jeff Grub and leaker NateTheHate2 took to Twitter to comment on two pieces of information they've heard from sources. The first is that Konami is likely working on multiple Silent Hill Games--including a mainline title and side "stories." The second allegedly confirms Bloober Team's involvement in a Silent Hill title--Silent Hill 2 Remake. The remake will receive reworked puzzles, new endings, and could possibly be a timed PlayStation exclusive. This is the stuff I've heard, and it comes from multiple different sources. Not all of my sources are primary, but everything is mostly lining up. To me, the biggest indicator is the stuff I've seen lines up with Konami doing a big reveal at E3 last year before it pulled out. https://t.co/GzUb3jzrwX — Jeff Grubb (@JeffGrubb) May 16, 2022 VGC also says that its sources support such claims. Bloober Team has long been rumored to … [Read more...] about Multiple Silent Hill Projects Are Rumored To Be In Development
