It is safe to assume that developers is aiming for mature audience with Just Cause 4. Given that there are only two months to go in the release of Just Cause 4, ESRB provided the rating details online. The official ESRB website has listed the game’s other section with “In-Game Purchases”. Most of the fans are hoping that this only turns out to be some kind of DLC rather than microtransactions. The controversy of microtransactions is not something anyone would want to associate with. Meanwhile, many believe that this might not mean anything serious for Just Cause 4 at all. Games have had In-Game Purchases listed before as well but in the end, they turned out to be DLC anyway. Some might argue that even if Just Cause 4 has “In-Game Purchases” it might have them like JC3. Just Cause 3 had stuff from the gold and deluxe edition added as microtransactions. That wouldn’t be such a bad hand dealt by the developers and for the gamers too. After all, … [Read more...] about Just Cause 4 In-Game Purchases Confirmed By ESRB Rating, Microtransactions Incoming?

Omega Labyrinth Z won’t be making it to the west as publisher PQube has announced in a statement that they’ve cancelled any plans of bringing the title to North America and Europe citing compliance with the “platform holder.” The game was planned to be released on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in the west so it might be safe to say that Sony was the one who finally decided to block the game’s release. The company’s statement reads: “PQube strives to release Japanese content for its fans as close to the source material as possible. In the case of Omega Labyrinth Z, while PQube has worked with all relevant age rating bodies in their respective territories, PQube must respectfully comply with the wishes of the platform holder and have therefore withdrawn any future plans for Omega Labyrinth Z’s European and North American release on PS4 and PS Vita.” Omega Labyrinth Z was able to attain an ESRB Mature rating in North America in May … [Read more...] about Sony Blocks Omega Labyrinth Z Western Release
Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt, the stand-alone guided-tour mode spun off from Assassin’s Creed Origins, launched on Tuesday for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, and users have noticed something that seems a little silly: Statues that are nude in the main game have been covered up in Discovery Tour. Assassin’s Creed Origins is, of course, an M-rated game, so sculpted breasts or genitalia would otherwise seem to be of trivial concern to a game with heavy amounts of violence. Here’s an example, right at the beginning of the tour, in Alexandria with Cleopatra as the player avatar. Seashells cover the breasts of a generic statue. In other instances, a larger shell is placed over a statue’s crotch. The main game features nude statues, including ones showing male genitals. … [Read more...] about Assassin’s Creed Origins guided tour mode covers up nude statues
Chris Lee, a Democratic State Representative in Hawaii, made waves in November after promising to devise legislation that would ban the sale of games with loot boxes to those under 21. Now, the representative has submitted two bills to the Hawaii State House and two accompanying bills to the Hawaii State Senate. The bills, introduced last month, target the sale of games with loot boxes to players under 21, and the fact that they don’t clearly indicate the odds of winning the various items. Hawaii Tribune Herald reports that House Bill 2686 and Senate Bill 3024 propose to prevent the sale of any game with randomised rewards that players can purchase with real money to anyone younger than 21 years-old. House Bill 2727 and Senate Bill 3025, on the other hand, would require publishers to clearly label games with randomised loot boxes purchasable with real money, and reveal the probability for getting each item included in their loot boxes. Rep. Chris Lee said that more than half of … [Read more...] about Hawaii has introduced 4 bills that prohibit the sale of games with loot boxes to anyone under 21, force publishers to disclose odds [Correction]
