What's the secret to esports success? Skill and practice? A good setup with responsive peripherals? Well, yes, actually, to all of those. But Swedish entrepreneur Oskar Ödmark believes the next leap for competitive gaming is, as the old adage goes, all in the wrist. To help us realize our full competitive potential, he's designed the Flashe (pronounced 'flashy') glove, which he claims is "the world's first performance enhancing gaming glove." The Flashe glove is currently on Kickstarter, and at the time of this writing, it has already raised $57,665 - quintuple its $11,000 goal - with eight days left in its campaign. (As our sister site PC Gamer reported, you have to pledge at least $79 to receive the actual glove; anything lower and you'll only get the sleeve.) So it's certainly funded, but is it actually any good? Ödmark points to four benefits in the glove's Kickstarter pitch: friction reduction provided by the glove's sleek teflon underside, a breathable gaming … [Read more...] about ‘The world’s first performance enhancing gaming glove’ sounds silly, but it might actually come in handy
The Chnano LED gloves we learned about a couple of years ago seemed like an absurd, but perhaps inevitable, evolution of the RGB lighting craze that plagues PC peripherals of all kinds. But they weren't actually suitable for gaming: As TechReport said, "The fabric was somewhat slippery against the game controller, and gamepads without rubber inserts repeatedly slipped from our hands." Typing with gloves on wasn't a great experience either. The Flashe Gaming Glove is a different sort of beast. Where the Chnanos just flashed, the Flashe promises to improve your speed and accuracy with a mouse, while simultaneously helping to prevent injuries. Performance improvement will come in large part thanks to the teflon-coated underside of the glove, which reduces friction and "means that you can finally become one with your mouse and move it faster, easier, and with more precision than ever before." That sounds like basically a wearable version of the teflon tape you can stick to … [Read more...] about Can this ‘performance-enhancing gaming glove’ help you become an Overwatch pro?

It's all made possible by the world-class hardware in the Xbox One X, which can boost in-game graphics to previously unseen levels only rivaled by high-end PCs. What Enhanced actually means can vary wildly from game to game, but usually you're looking at 4K output and/or HDR capabilities as a bare minimum.
