NASA is locked in a race to Mars with Elon Musk after vowing to put humans on the Red Plant in 25 years. The US space agency is researching how to help mankind survive in a martian mission that will subject space explorers to deadly radiation, vision loss and cause bones to crumble. Former NASA astronaut Tom Jones said: "The cost of solving those means that under current budgets, or slightly expanded budgets, it's going to take about 25 years to solve those." The current date set by governments for man's first steps on Mars is in the late 2030s. Meanwhile, Elon Musk has his eyes on a Mars mission, with supporters - including Brit astronaut Tim Peake - saying he could get us there within 20 years. He also has pledged to send humans to Mars by 2024 in bold plan to make humanity an ‘interplanetary species’. In February, his Space X program launched a demonstration flight to the Mars orbit - and even sent a Tesla car hurtling towards the Red Planet. At an … [Read more...] about NASA in space race with Elon Musk as they vow to put humans on Mars in 25 years
Elon musk and tesla
For a while, Elon Musk was the chosen one.The nerdy billionaire not only talked the talk, but walked the walk. On Twitter, he'd reference video games, quantum mechanics and space travel - three things I absolutely adore - while splashing outrageous sums of cash trying to make my childhood dreams a reality. I thought he might, one day, actually crack it and send someone to Mars. How things can so quickly change. Musk's evolution into rich sci-fi supervillain was cemented last week when he attacked a UK diver involved in the rescue of the Wild Boars. In a series of tweets - what else? - Musk attacked British diver Vern Unsworth. One said the expat living in Thailand was "sus". Then he said: "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it."Musk, who failed to back up his claims with any kind of evidence, deleted the tweets, but of course the internet never forgets and, sadly, neither will I.Musk's descent has made me wish for a Mass Effect patch, which sounds like an odd thing to wish for, but … [Read more...] about Elon Musk’s Twitter tirade has me dreaming of a Mass Effect patch

ELON MUSK has tweeted that he's building a cyborg dragon, whatever that means. The Tesla and SpaceX chief offered no explanation about the barmy invention. Let's pause for a second and break that down literally: a cyborg is a being with organic and mechanical body parts, and a dragon is a mythical animal usually portrayed as a scaly, fire-breathing serpent. Definitions aside, we're still no closer to getting to the bottom of this blunt, but also strangely cryptic, tweet. Musk has played with fire before, building a Boring flamethrower (which takes its name from the droll title of his tunnel-drilling firm) and flogging it for £355. All 20,000 units of the insane (and wholly irresponsible) tool were snapped in just four days. Oh btw I’m building a cyborg dragon— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 25, 2018 He's also taken to Twitter to unveil Boring hats and Tesla tequila – so is this cyborg dragon just the latest in a line of Musk merch? And will it be available to the … [Read more...] about Elon Musk says he’s building a ‘cyborg dragon’ – should we be worried?
Less than two months ago, Rockstar launched The Doomsday Heist update for GTA Online, in which players drove flying cars, deployed high tech weaponry, and generally performed all kinds of crazy stunts at the behest of an enigmatic multi-billionaire tech entrepreneur called Avon Hertz, who wants to save the world. Yesterday, Elon Musk, an enigmatic multi-billionaire tech entrepreneur who wants to save the world, launched a car into space; which is basically the next closest thing to an actual flying car (and no, I'm not counting those ones that can hover around the same speed as a forlorn snail). Can you spot the resemblance? Grand Theft Auto 5 players certainly could, and were more than happy to make their comparisons between yesterday's SpaceX launch and the kind of bonkers madness you can accomplish in Rockstar's open-world crime-fest. Let's offer some context first; the launch of the Falcon Heavy represented the most powerful rocket in operation shooting off into … [Read more...] about Elon Musk launched a car into space, and GTA 5 players can’t get enough of it
