It started out with a small presentation for The Last of Us Part II before moving on to a larger theater, where debuts like Resident Evil 2 Remake and Nioh 2 were sandwiched between gameplay segments for Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man and more. But the show got mixed reception from those that were trying to watch online, and it appears that Sony is aware of this. Sony Europe chief operating officer Simon Rutter recently spoke with The Guardian about Sony’s showcase, as well as its reception. E3 2018: Bayonetta Dev’s New Game, Babylon’s Fall, Announced For 2019
During its E3 2018 press conference, Square Enix has revealed Babylon's Fall, a new game from developer Platinum Games. The trailer doesn't show gameplay, but it does show a timeline that details the game's lore, indicating that it has a fantasy setting with some religious themes.The trailer ends with what appears to be a knight engaged in battle with a very large, armored enemy holding an equally large sword. There seems to be a magical or supernatural element to combat, though it's not clear from the trailer alone. However, this is a Platinum Games title, which gives us some idea of the kind of gameplay we can expect.Babylon's Fall is set to release in 2019 on PS4 and PC. No other details were given. Square Enix Reveals New PS4/PC Game “The Quiet Man” At E3 2018, Can Be Completed In One Sitting
Square Enix has announced a brand-new game. Today during the company's E3 2018 briefing, a game called The Quiet Man. As the title implies, it will involve silence in some manner. The tagline for The Quiet Man is "silence rings loudest." A trailer for the game was shown, focusing on a character beating up two other dudes in the street. You can watch it above.A full announcement for The Quiet Man has now come online, and Square Enix refers to the game as an "immersive story-driven cinematic action experience." According to Square Enix, it's expected that you can complete the game in one sitting. Intriguingly, and as the announcement trailer suggested, the games blends "live-action, realistic CG" with what the publisher calls "pulse-pounding action gameplay." E3 2018: Shadow Of The Tomb Raider’s First Gameplay Trailer Revealed
During Square Enix's E3 2018 press conference the company unveiled some brand new Shadow of the Tomb Raider gameplay. The video, which you can watch above, shows off some of the game's new mechanics and the darker tone present in this third and final portion of Lara Croft's origin story.Shadow of the Tomb Raider contains a more brutal Lara than the 2013 reboot and its sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. In fact, we're even left wondering at this early stage whether Lara might actually be the game's villain.Aside from the darker tone, there's also more of a focus on stealth and more sophisticated traversal, including fully-fledged swimming. E3 2018: Extended Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer Debuts With Ratatouille, Frozen, And Wreck-It Ralph
A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III premiered at the Xbox E3 2018 briefing and was then extended during Square Enix's event. The video showed a lot of characters from Disney's Frozen such as Elsa and Olaf. Also on display were characters from another Disney movie, Wreck-It-Ralph. Check out the trailer above.Kingdom Hearts III's release date is set for January 29 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This was announced just prior to E3, and we learned a few additional details during Square Enix's press conference. That was simply home to the same trailer above from Microsoft's press conference, but slightly extended--we got to see Ratatouille, for instance.Last month, we had some hands-on time with the game, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much the game's style and tone has held over the years.
