How far we've come. Back at Gamescom 2018, the Digital Foundry team was hugely impressed by 4A Games' real-time global illumination technology, powered by the ray tracing hardware acceleration made possible by Nvidia's RTX 2080 Ti. There was just one problem - Team Green's top-end GPU struggled to sustain 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, and if the this card was struggling, how would the lower-end cards compare? Thankfully, the final game possessed a revelatory increase in performance, and the goalposts have shifted dramatically, to the point where we wondered: can the 2080 Ti lock to anything like 4K60? And just what kind of ray tracing experience can you get on the RTX 2060, Nvidia's least capable ray tracing model.Suffice to say, this exercise is going to require some serious settings tweaking - similar to our prior tests with Battlefield 5 running on the RTX 2060. And yes, it may well involve some overclocking too. But one of the biggest challenges facing us is actually a … [Read more...] about The Metro Exodus ray tracing experience: can we run at 4K60 locked?

report this adWhen Resident Evil 2 players first visit the Library in the Raccoon City Police Department in the Leon A scenario, they will fall through the floor, leaving a hole in the walkway that prevents them from exploring other areas. A quick investigation of the library shows a bookshelf that’s slightly propped up by a jack, but unfortunately, the Mechanic Jack Handle is missing. In order for players to solve the library jack puzzle and create a makeshift walkway for themselves, they will have to find the Mechanic Jack Handle. But before players can even worry about getting the Mechanic Jack Handle, they first need to get their hands on the Club Key. The Club Key is located in the boiler room, which is only accessible to Leon. Upon arriving at the boiler room and grabbing the Club Key that’s taped on the white marker board, Resident Evil 2 players can then unlock a number of locked doors around the police station. The door that should interest anyone … [Read more...] about Resident Evil 2: Where to Find the Jack Handle for Library Puzzle
The Raccoon City Police Station must have been a nightmare to work in and – considering all of the locked doors – must have been a terrible museum as well. Some of the first roadblocks that you run into during the Resident Evil 2 Remake are the Spade Door, Diamond Door, Heart Door, and Club Door, so here’s how to find all of the keys to get through them. The keys that you get access to change depending on whether you’re playing as Leon or Claire. Leon can collect the Club key – which looks like a Clover too – while Claire finds the Heart key. Resident Evil 2 Remake Spade Door and Key The Spade Door is probably going to be the first that you encounter in the Police Station, on the west side of the Main Hall. This eventually leads to the West Office, where you find Leon’s Desk, and acts as one of your main rat runs between the Main Hall and the west side of the building. You can find the Spade Key naturally as you progress through the game, so … [Read more...] about Resident Evil 2 Remake guide – how to open the Spade door, Diamond Door, Heart Door, and Club Door
Atlas Pass v1, plus the Atlas Pass v2 and Atlas Pass v3, are three hard-to-track-down items that you're soon going to be hunting in No Man's Sky, especially if you're the curious sort who wants to go poking around behind those closed doors in Space Stations. The NEXT update tweaked the usual formaula for finding these - although it's still fairly similar to before - so here on this page we'll explain How to get the Atlas Pass v1, v2 and v3 as well as just what exactly the Atlas Passes do, too. On this page: What are Atlas Passes for in No Man's Sky? Atlas Passes - v1, v2 and v3 - are essentially infinite-use key cards which unlock certain doors or storage containers throughout the game. You'll need to find a Blueprint for each one, and then the required materials to craft them yourself, in order to get them. Their uses seem to vary slightly, but generally you'll find they work as follows: Atlas Pass v1 - The v1 Pass is generally used to unlock one thing in post-NEXT update No Man's … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky Atlas Pass
I hate driving. Somehow, I am legally allowed to drive on real-life roads, but I absolutely despise doing so. I find it boring, stressful, and--above all--difficult. The most recent game in the Dirt series, Dirt Rally, faced similar criticisms from some fans when it released via early access in 2015. Many praised the game for its depth and for how faithfully it recreated rally, as brutal as the sport can be. But even its biggest fans would likely admit that the game was too punishing for newcomers. With Dirt 4, developer Codemasters is trying to make motorsport more welcoming. A deluge of assists--for example, systems that help players with braking and cornering--will immediately make less confident drivers (read: me) much more comfortable. Codemasters' senior executive producer, Clive Moody, told me this was very much in the company's thoughts during development. "Dirt Rally was, without question, pretty uncompromising," Moody admitted. "A lot of people either couldn't get into it … [Read more...] about How Dirt 4 Opens Its Doors To New Drivers
