Regarding my first PvP kill in the Dark Zone in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: Yeah, it was dirty. Yeah, it was cheap. But it wasn’t my fault. Now, yes, I did totally shoot the guy, point blank and unprovoked. That’s on me. We had just come up on his team and helped them clear out some AI vermin from a small park near the Capitol. But one of my teammates decided to go Rogue, by holding down the Share button, and that took the rest of the group Rogue with him. At that point, I have a skull over my head and it’s you-or-me time. I had to shoot you, my dude. Tony Sturtzel, a senior producer for Ubisoft’s Red Storm Entertainment, chuckled at my dog-ate-the-homework excuses when he asked me how my time in the Dark Zone went after a hands-on preview last month. Mainly, Sturtzel seemed relieved when I said I had a good time there — and a better time than in the more traditional multiplayer we also tested out. The first Division, made by Ubisoft’s … [Read more...] about Hands-on in The Division 2’s three Dark Zones

One of the problems we have with the original Dark Zone of The Division is its unfair design. The Dark Zone servers allow access to everyone regardless of them playing Solo or with a Squad. This created situations where Solo players would often get overwhelmed by Rogue Squads. It was impossible to win a 1v2, 3, and 4 situations. The Division 2 is expected to change this by diving solo and squad servers. Solo players will not find squads on their servers but of course, if random players decide to join forces you are out of luck. During a live stream, Ubisoft’s Terry Spier spoke about the Dark Zone and the possible divide of solo and squad servers. Yeah, we have thought about it in fact, I can’t comment on the plans. We have only made a public stated that there will be a Dark Zone in The Division. We haven’t shared anything beyond that. But yeah we have thought about this. Of course, matchmaking is something very important to us in the Dark Zone. We have learned a lot … [Read more...] about Ubisoft Hints at Solo and Squad Modes for The Division 2 Dark Zone

E3 2018 provided us the gameplay of The Divison 2 along with many details including changes, new location, end game and specializations in the game but we didn’t get to hear about the Dark Zone but it looks like we missed it or something but it’s going to be present in the sequel of Division. Ubisoft Red Storm Creative Director, Terry Spier went on Twitter to confirm everyone asking about the Dark Zone by saying that they announced the Dark Zone experience at E3 for Division 2. Dark Zone is one of the major fun things in The Division to do along with PvE and PVP experience. It’s a unique concept and is something the developers should look out for in the sequel. Now what’s worth to notice from the Tweet is the word experience which hints us that it will not be a Dark Zone, instead of an experience which can be something different than we have seen in the original game. It took some time for Ubisoft to fix the Dark Zone in The Division to make it a … [Read more...] about The Division 2 Will Have A Dark Zone But Will It Be Any Different?
