Test-driven development (TDD) is the practice of writing automated tests for a piece of code before writing the code itself. In this blog post, I’m going to explain how my colleagues and I used TDD for making games (with code snippets), as well as what went well and what didn’t. TDD is not a fix-all, but we definitely learned a lot and became better developers as a result. We used Unity Test Runner in our project, which is a system for writing and executing NUnit tests in Unity. The usual workflow for TDD is as follows: First, you determine what the code will do. Let’s say that the code sets the value of codeHasRun from false to true. Next, you write a test that checks that the code has done its job. Bungie had laid out its future plans during a Destiny 2 Development Roadmap, with season 3 heralding a release its new DLC expansion. Bungie posted the graphic on its official site. In it, the Destiny 2 Development Roadmap details updates 1.12, 1.13, 1.14 and, crucially 1.20 – aka Destiny 2’s season 3. While the majority of the listed features are fixes and patches, there are a few key takeaways that spell out what we can expect within the next three months of Destiny 2. Nightfall Strike Rewards are scheduled to drop February 27 (though they have a possibility of arriving at a later date). A new Cubicle Playlists, featuring Mayhem, and Iron Banner 6 v 6 arrives a month later on March 27. The piece de la resistance drops, however, in May. Following several rumors surfacing the internet over the last few weeks, today Ubisoft Entertainment officially announced that South Park: The Stick of Truth would officially be re-released on current generation consoles. According to the press release, South Park: The Stick of Truth will be re-released on February 13, 2018, for $29.99. Although South Park: The Stick of Truth was already available (digitally) for current-gen systems for those who pre-ordered South Park: The Fractured But Whole, this will be the first time the title has officially received a physical release on eight generation hardware.
