The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account just ended more than four years of silence. I wish I could tell you that we now know the official release date for the next game from the Witcher studio, or at least when we'll get to see the actual game and not just a CGI trailer… but… just look at the tweet. What the hell are we supposed to make of it? Normally that's the kind of silly little message you'd scroll right past, but after so long and hearing so little about Cyberpunk 2077, people were just happy for the utter radio silence to be over. That said, if you look at the HTML encoding for the tweet you can find a hidden messa- kidding. It's literally just a beep. Let's keep those excited reaction gifs rolling before the ennui creeps back in. Simple as the tweet itself may be, its timing does have some significance; it was sent five years to the day after Cyberpunk 2077's first and only teaser trailer was published. Also, you don't just leave an account … [Read more...] about The Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account made its first noise in four years and people are freaking
Cyberpunk 2077 misogyny
CD Projekt announced Cyberpunk 2077 in 2012, rolled out a really cool cinematic teaser in 2013, and hasn't said a damned thing about it since. The Cyberpunk Twitter account, in fact, hasn't made a noise since December 5, 2013. Until today. There's been no other sign of life—no replies, no winkie emojis, no nothing—but those six characters all by themselves were enough to spark a tidal wave of excitement (and a tiny slice of surprise that someone at CDPR actually remembers the Cyberpunk Twitter password) among followers and fans. The replies make up a nigh-endless stream of memes that don't repeat nearly as much as you might expect. It's really impressive. (It's incredibly juvenile, I know, but I can't stop laughing at this one in particular.) I've developed a habit over the years of hassling CD Projekt's PR reps about Cyberpunk every time they email me about something else. They, in turn, have grown used to politely but firmly blowing me off. Today, I actually got to … [Read more...] about Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account comes to life after four years of silence
It’s been nearly six years since CD Projekt Red announced it was working on a Cyberpunk 2077 video game, and exactly five years since the Witcher series developer revealed the game’s first trailer. Understandably, fans of the studio’s games and the promise of a massive, open-world Cyberpunk RPG are hungry for new information. So it’s no surprise that people are freaking out over a single, innocuous tweet from the official Cyberpunk video game Twitter account — the first tweet from that account in more than four years. Here it is: While that’s not much to go on, it’s a sign of life — or the sound of something booting up? — for a game we haven’t heard much about over the past half-decade. While CD Projekt Red has been relatively tight-lipped about Cyberpunk 2077 over the years, we do know a few things about the project. Cyberpunk 2077 will be a “story-based RPG experience” with single-player “playthroughs, but … [Read more...] about CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 shows proof of life
As RPS’s token cyberpunk, required by contract to wear at least two leather jackets and sing Billy Idol while jamming with the console cowboys in cyberspace, it falls to me to tell you today’s big Cyberpunk 2077 news: it beeped. Today the game’s official Twitter account broke a four-year silence to blast *beep*. That’s all. But oh, I’m excited to see signs that it might arrive before we find ourselves actually living in the RPG’s grim dystopian future. A new big game from CD Projekt Red, the folks who made the cracking Witcher games, is most welcome. The game itself is still largely a mystery. CD Projekt have muttered about it being a “huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG”. It’s set in the future of the Cyberpunk pen & paper RPG series designed by Mike Pondsmith, a setting Jody Macgregor had a good look at. While we do know CD Projekt have received tech research grants for things like large living cities and seamless … [Read more...] about Cyberpunk 2077 beeps back to life, may yet boop, whirr
Cyberpunk 2077 was revealed all the way back in 2013 with a trailer and the game’s very own Twitter account has been inactive for last 3 years until now as Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account has posted for the first time in three years. However, nothing of importance has been revealed by Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account as all it says is “beep”, which might be to refer that it is still alive or CD Projekt Red might be preparing to reveal something soon. Also, there is a report making rounds on the internet suggesting that there will be a Cyberpunk 2077 Social Hub that will essentially be a bridge between the game’s single-player and multiplayer experiences. It seems that CD Projekt Red might be looking to create something similar to The Farm in Destiny 2 or Headquarters in Call of Duty: WW2. CD Projekt Red has been very quiet when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077. Not much is known except some rumors about the game and a rumor has been making rounds on the … [Read more...] about Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter Account Tweets For The First Time In 3 Years, Teaser Coming Soon?
