Super Smash Bros. has always been about bringing characters from different franchises together to duke it out in over-the-top battles, and the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch will be no different. Many fans have voiced their opinion on which characters they want to see make their franchise debut in the upcoming game, including anime company Funimation, who asked Nintendo on Twitter when Dragon Ball Z‘s Goku was going to join the fight. Nintendo ended its latest Nintendo Direct in epic fashion by finally confirming Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch. The highly anticipated game, due out for release later this year, has been met with much fanfare and excitement, even though we know next to nothing about it at the time of this writing. All we know definitively is that the Super Smash Bros. roster on the Nintendo Switch will see the debut of the Inklings from Splatoon, as well as the return of series mainstays like Link from The Legend of Zelda and Mario. Nintendo hit hard this week with a packed Nintendo Direct, but the biggest announcement that hit the hardest was the surprising reveal of what appears to be a brand new Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch.
