It looks like Command & Conquer fans will finally get their wish for a remaster answered. Out of the blue, EA has announced that it’s currently “exploring” some ideas about remastering classic Command & Conquer games. In a post on the C&C Reddit, EA producer Jim Vessella said the company hears fans’ requests for a return of the franchise on PC. The most recent fan comments were motivated by the announcement of mobile spin-off Command & Conquer: Rivals at E3. “We heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for over 20 years, I couldn’t agree more,” wrote Vessella, who worked on Red Alert 3, and Tiberium Wars. Though Vessella didn’t announce anything specific, he did confirm that EA is looking at how and what to remaster of these classic, and asked for fan input. That said, at least one facet of that effort will be revealed to celebrate … [Read more...] about EA is exploring Command & Conquer remasters to celebrate 25th anniversary
Over six years ago, ArenaNet and NCSoft released their MMORPG Guild Wars 2, and the title has proved to be immensely successful with an estimated player base of 3.3 million. While the developers previously celebrated the anniversary by releasing a special video highlighting the game’s “living world”, they announced today that they will also commemorate the occasion with a special promotion with, interestingly enough, Kung Fu Tea. That’s definitely not the first cross-promotion idea that comes to mind when thinking about gaming, but the promotion will fortunately have tangible in-game rewards. While I’m personally not a fan of the drink, warm or cold, I’ll bet that the several Guild Wars 2 players who do like tea will likely find this odd promotion both surprisingly and enjoyable. ArenaNet Global Brand Manager Elisabeth Cardy also seems to think this promotion is a neat idea: “We love developing memorable, real-world experiences … [Read more...] about ArenaNet is Celebrating Guild Wars 2’s Sixth Anniversary With…Tea?

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the much acclaimed JRPG Xenogears, and Square Enix is celebrating together with the original Character Designer Kunihiko Tanaka and Mecha Designer Junya Ishigaki. The two artists are collaborating with Square Enix on a project that will bring the legendary game back at least with figures, and today the publisher shared two pictures of prototypes for Bring Arts figures portraying Fei and Elly. You can see them at the bottom of the post, at the beginning of the gallery. Ishigaki-sensei also contributed by showing what appears to be a drawing overlayed to a prototype of a figure of Fei’s Weltall, alongside the artwork used to create it (third and fourth pictures). He also mentioned that it’s “coming soon,” encouraging fans to wait just a little more. Last, but definitely not least, Tanaka-sensei posted a large batch of artwork he created for the game, apparently including a couple of new drawing, alongside designs that he … [Read more...] about Square Enix and Xenogears’ Original Artists Celebrate 20th Anniversary with Figures and Artwork
