Epic Games are addressing some of the issues that Fortnite players have faced over the past few weeks. Alongside the removal of Guided Missiles, Epic say they’ll be making changes to peeking and weapon-swapping. Stay up to date with our Fortnite update tracker. The changes to peeking stemmed from an attempted fix implemented in v3.4. When Epic tried to change an issue affecting a small number of players, they accidentally introduced a bug that affected how players could peek over or around structures. That resulted in players accidentally shooting their own protection, as their bullet’s flight paths didn’t line up with their aiming reticule - something that quickly became known as the ‘dick bullets’ conundrum, as the bullets seemed to stem from the centre of Fortnite’s character models. The change should be fixed in patch v3.5.2, which is due later this week. The second issue addressed is weapon-swapping. Recently, Epic introduced weapon equip times … [Read more...] about Fortnite’s ‘dick bullets’ will be fixed later this week
A WEIRD Fortnite glitch that finds shots seemingly firing out of a player's groin, allowing them to dominate others online, has gamers raging. The issue has amusingly been dubbed "d*ck bullets" on Reddit after a previous issue that affected H1Z1 – a battle royale game that served as the precursor to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Coupled with another Fortnite exploit – which involves players switching between shotguns to fire off multiple rounds quicker than it takes to reload a single weapon – it's become a formidable tactic – one that players think needs immediate fixing. "This is, by a mile, my biggest annoyance right now," said Reddit user pilliw. "It's too unfair...and it's so hard to hit someone doing this," bemoaned Littlebigdude53. In another popular Reddit thread devoted to the issue, players are calling on Fortnite developer Epic Games to fix the "bugs" in the upcoming patch. "The gun should be where the bullet comes from and just because you can see … [Read more...] about Fortnite fans are furious over weird ‘d*ck bullets’ bug – here’s how it works
The PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a few big additions in a test patch this week. It’s not yet clear when the patch will be available on PUBG test servers, but developer PUBG Corp. communicated some of the changes ahead of time. The first and biggest change being introduced is bullet penetration. Unfortunately, it’s not the material penetration we were hoping to get. Instead, this will specifically affect vehicles and body limbs. PUBG Corp. did not explain exactly how this new system is going to work, but it did promise to reveal detailed patch notes in the next couple of days. Vehicle penetration is a concept completely new to PUBG. As it stands, you can do enough damage to a car to make it explode, or you can try to hit the driver and passengers through the windows. That said, it’s limb penetration that’s the more interesting addition. Prior to the launch of version 1.0, the game’s ballistic mechanics were overhauled. The … [Read more...] about Big PUBG patch hits test servers this week, adds in-game friends list, bullet penetration for vehicles, more
The Playerunknown's Battlegrounds test servers will return this week with a new build of the game incorporating a friend system, voice chat in the main menu, and a "limb penetration system." That last point might sound like some behind-the-scenes technical mumbo-jumbo, but it's actually important: It means player will no longer be able to block incoming shots with their hands. It's not that people were actively blocking bullets like Amazon warriors on a regular basis, but under the old system an incoming round would only damage whichever body part it hit first—so a hand or an arm that moved at at a pivotal moment could drastically reduce the damage from a hit that would otherwise ruin your day. Specifics on how the new penetration system will work weren't revealed but I'd expect that the shots will continue on their original trajectory into your skull/chest/naughty bits/whatever else tops your list of places you'd really rather not be shot in, and do some … [Read more...] about An upcoming PUBG test build will eliminate Wonder Woman-style bullet-blocking
