By Matt Martin, Tuesday, 1 May 2018 13:34 GMT Fortnite is back for Season 4 and its added a bunch of new challenges to the mix – and yes, they all reward you with groovy unlocks.Fortnite Season 4 still features the weekly challenges, updated every Tuesday and offering a stack of Battle Stars and XP to help you climb the Tiers. But it’s also added a couple of new challenges; Carbide and Blockbuster. These are fairly straight forward and are focused on rewarding progression rather than tasking you with getting a certain number of headshots or finding a hidden thing. It’s worth noting these challenges are only available if you have the Season 4 Battle Pass. Carbide Challenges As the name suggests, completing these will unlock new gear and clothing for the character Carbide, one of the new skins in Fortnite Season 4. Here’s the rewards you get for progression: Reach Season level 10 – unlocks chest plate Reach Season level 20 – unlocks leg armour … [Read more...] about Fortnite: how to complete Carbide and Blockbuster Challenges

Here’s how to complete Fortnite’s Carbide, Blockbuster challenges
Fortnite season four is here, which means there are brand-new Battle Pass challenges to complete. But as well as the standard weekly challenges, there are a handful of brand new challenges unique to season 4. Here are all the changes in the Fortnite season 4 map. This year, as well as standard daily challenges, there are Starter, Carbide, and Blockbuster challenges. The Starter challenges are available for everyone, and are relatively simple to achieve. You’ll need to outlive 1,000 opponents, play ten matches with friends, deal 5,000 damage to opponents, land at ten different named locations, play 50 matches overall, play ten matches with one elimination, and win at least one match. The idea is clearly that these are intended to offer challenges that last throughout the ten-week season, rather than all being achieved in one week. There are also the Carbide and Blockbuster challenges however, which are only available for Battle pass owners. The Blockbuster challenges require you … [Read more...] about Here’s how to complete Fortnite’s Carbide, Blockbuster challenges
‘An attempt to elevate the blockbuster form in its own language’
Ready Player One's many trailer Easter eggs have been analyzed, and now the movie itself has been screened to select audiences at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Few big-budget action movies have ever provoked this much widespread consternation before even hitting screens, but is that uncertainty reflected in the early critical feedback? Read on for some illuminating snippets from across the internet. Ready Player One dishes out "pop-culture eye candy" - Variety (Unscored) "Have no fear: In 'Ready Player One,' there is plenty of vicarious fantasy combat, notably a war of the worlds that features the Iron Giant as well as the red-eyed, gleaming silver Mechagodzilla. Every time a creature like that shows up (at one point, even the monster fetus from 'Alien' makes a kind of palm-buzzer cameo), it’s entrancingly cool. 'Ready Player One' tells a breathless and relatively coherent story - essentially, the future of civilization is riding on the outcome of a video game - … [Read more...] about ‘An attempt to elevate the blockbuster form in its own language’
CD Projekt Wants Cyberpunk 2077 to Become a Blockbuster Franchise
When CD Projekt Red first announced Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2012 the studio set the gaming world on fire. With just a short teaser trailer, the game became one of the most anticipated titles in development. Six years later and aside from the assurance it will be bigger than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we still know very little about the game, let alone when we can play it. Still, the studio shows no signs lowering expectations. In speaking today at the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar, CD Projekt discussed its goals and expectations with regards to Cyberpunk 2077, with CEO Adam Kicinski describing it as “more ambitious that Witcher 3” and a new blockbuster franchise. “Cyberpunk is our new Witcher 3, but even more ambitious. Our goal is to establish a new blockbuster franchise from the beginning. We work in a new universe, futuristic universe. We believe it’s very appealing to players, not only RPG players but this is a true RPG, like … [Read more...] about CD Projekt Wants Cyberpunk 2077 to Become a Blockbuster Franchise
CD Projekt touts Cyberpunk 2077 as a ‘blockbuster franchise’
CD Projekt spoke a bit about its big new project Cyberpunk 2077 at the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar last week, describing it as a "true RPG" set in an open-ended world that's even more ambitious than The Witcher 3. The presentation is very dry and as far as Cyberpunk goes there's really nothing new said, but the studio certainly doesn't appear to be interested in dialing back expectations at this point. "Cyberpunk is our new Witcher 3, but even more ambitious. Our goal is to establish a new blockbuster franchise from the beginning. We work [in a] new universe, futuristic universe. We believe it's very appealing to players, not only RPG players—but this is [a] true RPG, like Witcher, like Witcher 3, for mature audiences. It's handcrafted, detailed, of course open-world, with open-ended gameplay ," CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski says in the video. "Great game, more ambitious than Witcher 3, and we believe that we can aim [at] more ambitious business goals as … [Read more...] about CD Projekt touts Cyberpunk 2077 as a ‘blockbuster franchise’
