The biggest showcases of E3 2022 have now drawn to a close. And while we've been treated to dozens of pretty cinematic trailers, promising gameplay reveals, remakes and reworkings over the last several days – not least during the Xbox and Bethesda Games event, and Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest – there are plenty of games that, for one reason or another, failed to peak their heads above the development trenches. We've already highlighted the 10 Xbox Series X exclusives that weren't shown during the Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase , but here we take a broader look at the big-hitters and most intriguing projects that we'd have loved to have seen more of, but sadly didn't. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, the upcoming Soulslike from A44 Games, is a melting pot of ideas and inspirations. For one, it's the indirect follow-up to the developer's 2018 action role-player Ashen – a thoughtful slant on the genre which, whilst far from revolutionary, is a wonderful example of the formula executed well. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more people are staying home and playing video games. As such, spending on gaming has grown, and Electronic Arts is among the companies that is benefitting. In a new "fireside chat," EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said the company is expected to announce its biggest-ever Q1, which runs April-June. EA said in May that it expects to make $5.525 billion in revenue and a profit of $978 million for the period, which is a record for Q1, but Jorgensen said that the real numbers will be even bigger than that. The full numbers will be announced during EA's earnings report on July 30, but Jorgensen said today, "What I will tell you is it has been much stronger than we anticipated." EA plans to release some of its marquee upcoming games--FIFA 21, Madden NFL 21, and NHL 21--a little later than usual due to the impact of working from home and other issues connected to COVID-19. Newegg has announced dates for its upcoming FantasTech Sale, a massive annual promotion that is particularly great for tech products, including PC gaming gear. FantasTech runs from July 11-15. Unsurprisingly, the sale will be live during Amazon Prime Day 2022 , which is slated for July 12-13. Newegg, like most other major retailers, will compete with Amazon for eyeballs and dollars during the biggest sale week of the year outside of Black Friday. Newegg will also get a jumpstart on the competition by launching a slate of early deals on July 5. While the online retailer hasn't unveiled any specific deals just yet, you can expect to save on PC components, computers, and other tech and entertainment products. Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue, Space Harrier, and many other games, is releasing his latest, Air Twister, via Apple Arcade on June 24. Ahead of its release, we spent some time with the game and even had the chance to speak with Suzuki through a translator about the dream-like experience wherein you ride giant swans across alien landscapes.
