Bethesda has been dropping hints and teasers on Twitter for the past couple of days, for something. Bethesda’s teases are very mysterious, so it’s not immediately clear exactly what the publisher wants us to see. There are some consistent themes in all teasers, though, which could lead us to an answer. The first was this picture of the Big Ben. The clock is pointing to 5:14, and it looks like someone took a paintbrush dripped in pink to the top part of its face. So 5:14 and pink. pic.twitter.com/OZg34srDmc — Bethesda (@bethesda) May 10, 2018 Bethesda followed that up with this image of a rocket heading to space. Once again, 5-14 shows up on the side and the rocket’s tips have been painted pink. The clouds also have a pink tint. pic.twitter.com/PC6fBW5BNO — Bethesda (@bethesda) May 10, 2018 We’re not sure what the colour pink is supposed to signify, but 5-14 could simply pointing to May 14. If Bethesda is prepping an announcement for Monday, this … [Read more...] about Bethesda is teasing something with pink paint and “5-14”

Update: Bethesda has shared another teaser image on Twitter, further reinforcing the theories that May 14 will bring some kind of announcement. This one features a rocket firing into space with the numbers "5-14" adorned on the side. It's clear that something is coming on Monday.Rage 2 still seems to be a likely candidate, assuming the Walmart listing for it was not an error. The smoke left behind the rocket is the same pink color that was used in Bethesda's tweets about the Rage 2 listing. Whether that means anything at this point is unclear, but the choice of color between each of these posts is telling. Whether the actual images--the rocket and Big Ben--have any meaning remains to be seen. The original story follows the tweet.Bethesda appears to be teasing an upcoming announcement with a vague image of the Big Ben clocktower in London, England. A tweet consists only of an image of the tower, with bright pink streaks of graffiti across its face. The Internet is already scouring the … [Read more...] about Bethesda Teases A Pre-E3 Announcement Following Rage 2 Listing
Bethesda tweeted an image of Big Ben today, the hands of the famous clock painted pink and leaving a bright smear as they travel across the face. What does it mean?Well, let's talk about the possibilities. The pink certainly could be a reference to Rage 2: just yesterday, after Walmart potentially spoiled a bunch of E3 game announcements by posting a list of upcoming games, Rage's twitter posted a correction in bright pink, which is most likely confirmation that Rage 2 is on the way. Is London the setting of Rage 2?The clock's pink hands are poised at 5:14, which might translate to a date: May 15. That's this coming Monday, so this tweet could be a pre-announcement to an upcoming announcement. Maybe we'll get a trailer for Rage 2 on Monday? So, our money is on a Rage 2 announcement, but what else could it mean? A new game set in London? An old series (Fallout) set in London? Skyrim will be playable on Apple Watch? It's time for more Brink? If you've got better theories, let us know. … [Read more...] about What is Bethesda teasing with this image of Big Ben?
There are good and bad ways to respond to a leak, and it looks as if Bethesda has decided to take the higher route with its public response to Walmart’s listing of what might be one of its upcoming games. Rage was a first-person shooter from id Software that came out in 2011 to middling reviews, and led to John Carmack apologizing for the game in a 2012 QuakeCon keynote. That seemed to be the end of Rage’s story, until Walmart Canada posted a listing for Rage 2, which is not yet officially announced. The official Rage Twitter account later tweeted the following image: Seriously, Walmart. At least put some effort into your placeholder listings. This joke is pretty light and fluffy as these things go, but does anyone else notice what it doesn’t include? A denial. Publishers tend not to comment on this sort of thing, because announcements are carefully timed for maximum impact so they don’t want to confirm the game is coming right now, but they also don’t … [Read more...] about Bethesda responds to apparent Rage 2 leak in best way possible
