A new story trailer for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age was unveiled during Square Enix's E3 2018 presentation and fleshed out more of the RPG's world. The iconic art-style from Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Chrono Trigger) was on full display, and we had a taste of the localized English voice acting.Early in the game, you'll arrive at the city of Heliodor, where the main character Hero is referred to as a "Luminary", which is a common class title in past Dragon Quest games. Hero is sent to jail by King Carnelian, who seems to have a vendetta against luminaries, believing they're conspiring with darkness.Dragon Quest XI comes to PlayStation 4 and PC worldwide on September 14, 2018, while the Nintendo Switch version does not have a release date yet. PS4 Creation Game Dreams Has A Release Date
The creation game Dreams is coming to PlayStation 4 next year, and as announced on Sony's last State of Play of 2019, it has a very sweet release date. The game will release on February 14, aka Valentine's Day.Dreams has been available in early access since earlier this year, marking an early beta that has allowed Media Molecule to introduce new creation tools while also cultivating a small community of creators. Dreams' tools are extremely flexible, which is why the trailers for the game always look like it's for a few dozen different games.Dreams was first announced in 2013, so it's been a long time coming for next year's release. LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule has long been teasing its ambitious new game, Dreams, and now PS4 players finally get the chance to play it. The game has launched in early access in some territories, with others getting the early edition of the game in the next few hours.The version available for download is named Dreams Creator Early Access, as it's designed to get creators inducted in order for Media Molecule to gather data on how users interact with its game, as well as feedback on how it can improve the experience. You Can Make A Battle Royale-Style Game In The PS4 Exclusive Dreams
Dreams, the wildly ambitious PlayStation 4 exclusive that lets you create games within the game, will allow players to make battle royale-style experiences. Game Informer interviewed Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans, and he succinctly stated "yes" when asked if can make a battle royale game within Dreams. However, Evans also confirmed that online multiplayer will not be available until after launch.Later in the interview, Evans said Dreams supports 4-8 players, though it wasn't clear if he was talking about local or online play.Media Molecule studio director Siobhan Reddy previously talked about making a battle royale game within Dreams. "The answer to a lot of these questions is, 'Where there is a will, there is often a way.' We learned that with LBP. We would be like, 'No, that can't be done.' PlayStation will wrap up the year with its final State of Play, which airs today, December 10, at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT. The company intends to unveil a bevy of PlayStation 4 related content, including "around 20 minutes of new game reveals, release date announcements, new gameplay footage," and more. You can stream it live below.What the "around 20 minutes" will show is unknown. We recently saw leaked artwork for a Resident Evil 3 Remake, and we know both Final Fantasy VII Remake and The Last of Us Part II are arriving in 2020. Nioh 2 is also expected to launch early next year, but it's unclear if either of these games will appear during the State of Play livestream.
