Grim Sky promises to change the Rainbow Six Siege meta in new and interesting ways, and that’s nominally thanks to the new defender, Clash. As the first shield operator on defence she adds a whole new dimension to established tactics like anchoring and roaming, giving you access areas that would normally get you killed, and even turn the tables on your opponent and start hunting them down across the map. A shield operator on defence is a daunting prospect – especially when they come with tasers and a machine pistol – but Clash has a few drawbacks to watch out for. There are also a lot of new operator interactions that help ensure attackers have a way of combating this new threat. So if you’re playing Clash it’s useful to know what enemies to steer clear of and who you can afford to push. In order to make sure you get off to the best possible start with Rainbow Six Siege Clash, we’ve prepared the following tips and tricks guide to the new Grim Sky … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege: Clash tips, tricks, and loadout

Information on new Rainbow Six Siege operators Clash and Maverick has streadily trickled out ahead of their official reveal, but today Ubisoft unveiled the duo for real, providing a rundown on the new ops’ abilities, loadouts, and backgrounds. Clash and Maverick arrive with Operation Grim Sky, Siege’s latest expansion that launches in September. Both carry potentially meta-shifting gadgets that have important implications for how Siege is played. On the attacker side, there’s Erik “Maverick” Thorn. After a period of being listed as missing in action in Afghanistan, Maverick returned to the Unit carrying a specialized blowtorch. We’ve seen his blowtorch before, and noted its ability to cut holes in hard surfaces. However, Ubisoft has revealed today that the quiet Surrey torch won’t be able to cut large openings in reinforced walls. Instead, it can be used to create murder holes and small holes to crawl through, and it can cut through just about … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege’s new operators officially revealed, here are their loadouts
As popular as Rainbow Six Siege is, its almighty learning curve can prove too much for some. There are 36 operators to master, 15 sprawling maps to learn, and countless tactics and strategies to deploy in any given scenario. You will not pick up all of that overnight. Even six months is a push. Committing to the $39.99/£34.99 Rainbow Six Siege standard edition can be a daunting prospect, then, unless you are certain you are going to spend some serious time with it. That is why Ubisoft launched a $14.99/£11.99 Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition, offering an entry point to the tactical FPS for those on the fence, the price cut being replaced with an extended grind required to unlock each operator. To help weigh up which Rainbow Six Siege version is right for you, we have broken down the merits of each version below. Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition difference At full whack, the Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition is half the price of the standard edition – so what is the … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition vs. standard: which version should you buy?
Rainbow Six Siege has always had a mid-season reinforcements patch to shake up the meta and deliver vital balance changes between each new major Rainbow Six Siege update. Year 3 has been a little different as the formal mid-season patch has been scrapped in order to keep the game’s meta more consistent for Pro League. However, the introduction of CBRN operator Lion has caused an upset in the community, and Ubisoft have responded in kind with Patch Y3S1.2. This Rainbow Six Siege patch is packed with balance changes, but none of the operator reworks that we’re used to getting halfway through a season. Fresh on the scene? Here are the best Rainbow Six Siege operators. Rainbow Six Siege update Y3S1.1 lands on PC on Tuesday, May 1, and May 2 for consoles. This weekend saw the world's best Rainbow Six Siege players battle it out in the game's 2018 Invitational tournament - and Ubisoft was on hand to detail what was next for the game. Lots of people play Siege. Rainbow Six Siege has, if you've not already heard, quietly become one of Ubisoft's biggest games. This weekend, Ubi boasted that Siege now had 27 million players (although it's unclear how many of these come from free weekends). "We've communicated already a couple of times that our vision for the game is to bring it to 100 operators," Rainbow Six Siege brand director Alexandre Remy said at the event. "Today we have 36 operators. Year 3 will bring eight [more]. That 100 is a symbol of the longevity we want to have for the game. "We are saying extremely loudly here - there is no sequel planned. We will be here for the next 10 years. So expect more Rainbow 6 in your life for quite some time." The journey from Siege's origins as a slightly-underwhelming boxed game to today's … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege “will be here for the next 10 years”
