Contrary to popular belief, the best headphones for gaming don't have to be a gaming headset. These days, most Bluetooth headphones have built-in mics, active noise cancelling and, in some cases, even support voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. Of course, when you're gaming on PC, most of these embellishments probably don't matter. You just want the best sound quality. In that case, look no further than the best headphones for gaming 2019 has to offer. Compared to the best gaming headset of 2019, the best headphones for gaming are blessed with a wide frequency response range. Much as we adore the SteelSeries Arctis Pro for the competitive multiplayer advantages it boasts, 10Hz-40kHz is no contest for the Sony WH1000MX3's, our favorite non-gaming-branded headphones for playing games, whose 30-hour battery life claim is also an unparalleled feat in the gaming space. Granted, a solid pair of headphones is more expensive than the traditional headset, and … [Read more...] about The best headphones for gaming 2019

I'm an hobbist game developer. I'm trying to make a clone of a game like this: http://superhex.io/ to experiment with multiplayer online. I'm trying to use gcloud app services. The question is mostly about the choice of this infrastructure: I want to understand if it is viable for this kind of games. The benefit of gcloud is the fact that you don't pay if no one is playing, which is good for a hobbist like me. First of all I'm not sure if there is a better way to implement server-client comunication. So far I have implemented a server which updates the game state every 0.5 seconds and sends the information to all the clients. You can try my current prototype here: https://hexpose.appspot.com With respect to local development where the 0.5 seconds rounds are very regular, playing on the public server you see that the pace is not regular... I think this is due to a variable latency in server-client comunication. So, apart from my game logic which is somewhat ugly, I wonder if the server … [Read more...] about is google app suitable for realtime multiplayer game server?
Larger apps and games convert fewer Google App Store store visits into installs. This is because users are conscious of using up storage on their device, using up their data plans, and waiting around for downloads to complete on slow connections. Android App Bundle is a new Android app publishing format which makes games smaller on people’s device. In Unity 2018.3 beta, we are introducing App Bundle support for some of the hardware configurations. Read on to learn how you can get started building an Android App Bundle instead of an APK! Larger games tend to be uninstalled first when users are looking to free up space on their device. This impacts users in all markets and is especially pronounced in markets where device storage and data is at a premium. Android App Bundle includes all your game’s compiled code and resources, but defers APK generation and signing to Google Play. Google Play’s new app serving model, called Dynamic Delivery, then uses your app bundle … [Read more...] about Support for Android App Bundle (AAB) in Unity 2018.3 beta – Unity Blog

If you like the Waifu+Mecha combination, pretty much no franchise is better than Muv-Luv, and following the announcement that Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier was going to get a Google App and an iOS version this month, today we finally got the actual release date. Those who would like to play on Apple’s phones and on their PC without having to use the slightly unwieldy browser version will have to wait just one more week, as the two ports will launch on next week January 18th. As usual, the game will be only in Japanese, but it’s easy to enjoy it without really knowing the language, and I’ll probably write one of my handy guides after the release of the new platforms. In other related news, today the game received a new event titled Final Battle in the Extreme North – Unknown –, which is all about Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. This lets me see Fikatsia Latrova in action once more, so that puts quite the smile on my … [Read more...] about Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Google App and iOS Versions Get Release Date
