SoulCalibur 6‘s character creator is one of the coolest, most open-ended parts of the new fighter – and fans are having an absolute ball with it. We reported on one of our favourite SoulCalibur 6 character creations last week, when players started using an innocuous group of items to create enormous dongs to add them to characters in order to troll online. Lizardman with a massive knob is still hilarious, but we figured it was also worth demonstrating that SoulCalibur 6’s create-a-soul mode was actually capable of creating some awesome, memorable customs that don’t involve dicks. Thus here we are – here today to run down not all-original creations, but instead some of the sometimes stunningly accurate and sometimes uncanny and weird player attempts to recreate classic characters you might be familiar with. The SoulCalibur Creation reddit has been instrumental in putting this page together, so much credit to them. Here’s some of our faves: Thanos … [Read more...] about From Thanos to Skeletor, here’s some of the best SoulCalibur 6 character creations

Here’s New Vegas’ character creation in Fallout 4’s engine
It’s been several months since we heard from Fallout 4 New Vegas, the fan project to bring Obsidian’s 2010 role-playing game into Bethesda Game Studios’ Creation Engine, introduced with 2015’s Fallout 4. Team F4NV published this video yesterday showing off the character creation sequence that opens Fallout New Vegas in their updated game. You can see the remodeled Vit-o-Matic where the Courier picks their SPECIAL build, and hear an updated version of Doc Mitchell’s theme that the modders’ music lead developed. That’s a new actor voicing Mitchell, as well, and he does a near virtuoso job with the wasteland physician. Also of note: Wild Wasteland is still a part of this game (the perk was only available for New Vegas) and even gets an animated Vault Boy icon, with sound effects, like all the rest. Full credits are in the about box on the YouTube page. There’s more information on the mod’s website and Facebook page. The project still … [Read more...] about Here’s New Vegas’ character creation in Fallout 4’s engine

The 5 best solo board games
Board games are a fantastic avenue for socialization. I don’t think it gets much better than sitting around a table with close friends laughing, rolling, and often yelling at each other in good spirits. Unfortunately, life often conspires to prevent a regular game night. That’s where solo gaming fills the void. Here are the 5 games I’m most likely to grab off the shelf when I want to push some pieces around the table but can’t make it to game night.GloomhavenGloomhaven has done nothing but garner praise since it appeared on the Kickstarter scene in late 2015. It quintupled its funding goal based on its promise of a near-living fantasy world packed with unique missions, a branching campaign, and light Legacy elements. It did more than deliver. It rocketed up BoardGameGeek’s rankings to land in the top spot in only a few months and a reprint Kickstarter raised 4 million dollars. This isn’t some miniature-filled hype machine—Gloomhaven deserves … [Read more...] about The 5 best solo board games
Monster Hunter World Could Add ‘Do-Over’ Option for Character Creation
There’s no question that a lot of Monster Hunter World fans will likely consider the action-RPG as having one of the best character creator systems in recent memory thanks to the meticulous level of detail players can apply to their in-game avatars. However, many have noticed that their character creations look somewhat different while out in the field, which has led to player frustration due to there only being a limited amount of changes one can make after creating a custom hunter. With this being the case, Monster Hunter World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto stated in a recent interview from Game Watch Impress at Taipei Game Show 2018 that the title could eventually add a “do-over” option for character creation should enough fans demand it. Until the feature is considered for addition, though, Tsujimoto and the game’s director, Yuya Tokuda, shared some tips for players to ensure that their character creations accurately translate to the way they will look in-game. … [Read more...] about Monster Hunter World Could Add ‘Do-Over’ Option for Character Creation
