The next step forward in the AMD GPU roadmap is to move Vega to the 7nm process and that is something that we have been waiting for as that brings us one step closer to AMD Navi as well as the next generation architecture that has no name as of right now. AMD has tweeted that the 7nm AMD Vega based Radeon Instinct graphics cards are at the lab, which is very exciting. While the Radeon Instinct graphics cards will be moving to the 7nm process there has been no real indication from AMD that the same will be the case for gaming AMD Vega graphics cards as well AKA AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics cards. Moving to the smaller node means better efficiency and higher clock speeds which is always good. AMD must be checking the boost in performance that the smaller node has to offer before deciding whether or not it is worth it. If you ask me AMD needs to do something when it comes to gaming graphics cards as we know that Nvidia has a new architecture planned for this year and till now we have … [Read more...] about 7nm AMD Vega Based Radeon Instinct Graphics Cards In The Labs, Target Machine Learning
Chuwi has announced the HiGame mini-PC which is powered by Intel Kaby Lake-G which comes with AMD Vega M graphics and from the looks of things the graphics are better than an Nvidia GTX 1050. If you are confused between the AMD Vega M and the AMD Vega Mobile series then you can click here to learn about the difference between the two. AMD Vega M graphics are pretty decent and they can compete very well with entry-level graphics cards like the AMD RX 560 as well as the Nvidia GTX 1050. The best thing about them is that they are on the chip so they do not take up additional space or require additional power. You can check out a few benchmarks below. You can see that the AMD Vega M graphics perform better in the selected games but this does not mean that this will be the case in all games. There will be instances where games will be better optimized for Nvidia hardware instead. This is something that you will need to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to get this system. The Intel … [Read more...] about Intel Kaby Lake-G AMD Vega M Graphics Better Than Nvidia GTX 1050
While AMD Vega Mobile and Vega M might seem like the same thing, in reality, they are not. If you are interested in taking a look at the differences then you have come to the right place. Starting off it would seem that Vega M is based on Pascal 22 and the SKUs are AMD RX Vega M GH and GL. These are mobile graphics that we have seen in some laptops in recent days. AMD Vega Mobile is based on the Vega architecture and the different SKUs that we have seen include AMD Vega 28 as well as Vega 11. At its heart, Polaris 22 is still Polaris and is based on GCN4. It has been customized to meet Intel specifications, such as 64 ROPs. It should be noted that Polaris 22 does have some features of Vega but it is much closer to Polaris. It should be noted that while the AMD RX Vega M GH and GL graphics are names as Vega but they are Polaris 22 at the core. This can be a bit confusing at first glance but don’t tell me that I did not tell you so. If this is something that you cannot wrap your … [Read more...] about AMD Vega Mobile Vs Vega M, What Is The Difference?
AMD Vega 20 is something that we have been looking out for since AMD announced that the company will continue the AMD Vega series cards in 2018. We have also heard that in order to provide better performance, these cards will be based on the 7nm node instead. While a smaller node means more power and better efficiency, keeping in mind how well AMD Vega performs, it is hard to see how much of an improvement is possible. The recent Linux patch mentions AMD Vega 20 and while we know for sure that AMD Vega GPUs will be coming out later this year, this could also point toward new AMD RX 600 series graphics cards as well. AMD Vega 20 IDs are one less as compared to the previous AMD Vega 10 IDs. While this could mean a number of things we are still waiting for more information before going crazy with the speculations. The missing ID could be an AMD Vega gaming GPU that will be based on the 7nm process. The reason why it has not been mentioned here could be because AMD does not plan on selling … [Read more...] about AMD Vega 20 Listed In Linux Patch, Hints Of RX 600 Series Graphics Cards
Cryptocurrency miners seem to have started to return graphics cards in attempts to get their money back, or at least part of it. If you were wondering if that is possible then the policy is that you need a valid reason to return the card and the return needs to be made in the stated time mentioned in the returns policy. AMD Vega 56 happens to be one of the models that people are returning. People seem to be making a pretty penny keeping in mind the inflating prices but retailers are saying that this will not affect them as most of the cards that have been sold were bought at original pricing and even the ones sold with inflated pricing have a substantial markup. The AMD Vega 56 cards that are included below are sealed so they will be sold again but if you seal is broken and the card is used then the graphics card goes back to the manufacturer, in this case, XFX. Why is this the case you ask? Well, the answer is pretty simple. Seeing how Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are … [Read more...] about Cryptocurrency Miners Are Trying To Return AMD Vega 56 Graphics Cards, Did The Bubble Burst Already?
