It’s not immediately obvious what this means, and what impact it’ll have on your game going forward, so we thought we’d put something together run you through the choice. Between the different Battlefield 5 alpha and beta tests, the game has changed several times over, and that’s very apparent in the current build. With the launch version of Battlefield 5 now playable, DICE took a bit of time to highlight some of the biggest changes made based on alpha and beta feedback. Almost everything from general quality of life updates to the more pressing mechanical changes to attrition, fortifications, gunplay and more has been made better. The full list of changes is massive, over a hundred pages [PDF], in fact. You can read it all at the link, or see the general highlights below. Black Ops 4 Blackout is Call of Duty's take on a Battle Royale mode, where large numbers of players attempt to be the last person standing on a huge sprawling map. Black Ops 4 is probably the most radical Call of Duty game in years, ditching a traditional single-player campaign to focus on multiplayer activities, including three Zombies experiences, changes to traditional player-versus-player matches and, of course, this newly added mode. We know the essentials of how Call of Duty Battle Royale will work, but exact details for key elements such as the Blackout map size and player count are all a little uncertain, as well as dates for the Black Ops 4 beta. Here's everything we know about Blackout and the Black Ops 4 beta ahead of the game's launch on October 12. Black Ops 4 start time and beta dates explained After a PS4-only beta last weekend (August 3rd to 6th) there will be a Black Ops 4 beta across all platforms for its standard multiplayer mode, featuring six maps, six game modes … [Read more...] about Black Ops 4 beta start time, beta code access, PC specs and everything we know about the Call of Duty Battle Royale mode Blackout
With the first of two Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 open beta tests coming our way this weekend, Treyarch has posted the details about what we can expect, including when the action will begin—that's 10 am PT/1 pm ET on August 10 for those who have preordered, August 11 for everyone else—and what we'll need to make it rock. First things first, you're going to need a Battle.net account if you don't already have one, because Black Ops 4—much like Fallout 76—will not be on Steam. It's free, and yes, I know it's a hassle having to maintain multiple game launchers, but the world is changing, Steam is bleeding, and we might as well start getting used to it now. Besides, the odds are pretty good that you're already playing Overwatch, Hearthstone, and/or Destiny 2 (and thus have the Battle.net client installed) anyway.Next up is the hardware. Treyarch emphasized that these specs are for the beta only, and not the final release: "The game is still in development … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta system requirements announced
