Home • PC Game Reviews • Dragon Age: Inquisition • 218 Unexpected Adam Smith former Deputy Editor 17th November 2014 / 2:00PM Dragon Age: Inquisition might just be my favourite game released this year. Considering my expectations and relationship with recent BioWare games, that’s about as likely as Saturday night’s soggy kebab being my favourite meal of the year. I’ve spent almost sixty hours uncovering as much of Inquisition’s enormous open world and intricate story as possible, and as soon as I have a few days free, I’ll be spending another sixty or eighty hours seeing it all through new eyes. Before digging into the details, here’s an overview of what Inquisition does. What is the base of the game that I’m so enthusiastic about. It’s a sprawling, well-crafted story, with an intelligent approach to its world-building and the inclusion of player choice in the deconstruction and reconstruction of that … [Read more...] about Wot I Think: Dragon Age – Inquisition

Asus ROG Gladius II review: An expensive gaming mouse you probably won’t mind shelling out for
Home • PC Game Hardware • 20 The Gladiolus of gaming mice Katharine Castle Hardware Editor 9th February 2018 / 6:00PM I’d normally balk at the idea of spending over £30 on a mouse. I’ve never been one for owning flashy gizmos or the latest and greatest, so the thought of forking over more than double that for something like the Asus ROG Gladius II (which currently costs just over £70 in the UK and $95 in the US) would, ordinarily, be positively horrifying. Thankfully, the ROG Gladius II has more than earned its keep over the last couple of weeks, as it’s not only one of the most comfortable mice I’ve ever used, but it also comes with a load of handy extras to help justify its price, such as a pair of spare Omron switches and two detachable USB cables, one braided and one regular rubber. Is it best gaming mouse material, though? Let’s have a gander. The extra cable will almost certainly come as a relief for … [Read more...] about Asus ROG Gladius II review: An expensive gaming mouse you probably won’t mind shelling out for
Age Of Empires 4 trailer shows off its medieval setting
Home • PC Game News • Age of Empires IV • 23 Alice O'Connor News Editor 14th November 2019 / 10:28PM Today’s a big day for Age Of Empires. A revamped version of the second game launched this afternoon (and it’s still jolly nice, our Nate said in his Age Of Empires 2 Definitive Edition review) then tonight we got a first look at the all-new Age Of Empires 4. It’s set in the medieval era and ooh, I do quite like how that old cartoony look is being translated to modern 3D. Have a look for yourself. Once again, it’ll draw together civilisations from across the world to throw down in real-time strategy action. And… we don’t know much about it. That trailer reveals the Mongols and the English but specifics of how 4 may or may not change the classic formula are a mystery. Age Of Empires 4 is being made by Relic Entertainment, the studio behind the Company Of Heroes and Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War games, so it would almost … [Read more...] about Age Of Empires 4 trailer shows off its medieval setting

Shadow Of Mordor Out 30th, But We Won’t Have A Review
Home • PC Game News • Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor • 69 John Walker Prisoner 17th September 2014 / 4:00PM Middle-Earth: Shadows Of Mordor looks like quite the prospect. An open world RPG in Tolkein’s universe, developed by Monolith. And you play as the best of all the classes, a ranger! It sounds rather exciting, but we’ve just learned that we’re not going to be able to tell you if it is or not before the game’s released, on the 30th September in the US. Huh. Update: We’re being informed that console outlets already have review code, after attending a special event, and will have reviews online by the 26th. It seems this is a special treat for the PC version. We will keep you up to date. Second update: Sadly, when we asked for details as to why PC code was not available when console was, we were told by Warner, “We have no further comment… at this stage.” We’ve also just been told that … [Read more...] about Shadow Of Mordor Out 30th, But We Won’t Have A Review
