IT is now possible to apply to get verified on Instagram. Here's all you need to know about getting that coveted blue tick. How do you get verified on Instagram? Accounts with large audiences can directly ask for verification using a form rather than waiting out for Instagram to grant them the status. To apply you have to go to your profile, tap settings and they click on "request verification". At that point you need to give Instagram your account name, your full name, and a legal or business ID. APPLE recently unveiled a slew of new features coming to the software that powers its devices, but the tech giant has included plenty of useful updates that went unmentioned at last week’s developers conference. Apple spruiked some of the major changes at its WWDC event last week, focusing on changes designed to give users a better understanding of how much time they’re spending on their device to promote digital wellbeing — something Silicon Valley is beginning to take more and more seriously. The new iOS12 software isn’t expected to become public until around September but thanks to an early beta version for developers, we know about all the nifty new updates on the way. And some of them are fantastic. Here’s a handful of the best new features coming to iOS 12 that flew under the radar. WHATSAPP users are complaining of a bug that impacts your messages, status, and contacts. The glitch lets people you've blocked on the messaging app contact you and vice versa and it lets them view your status (these are the Snapchat-style disappearing posts WhatsApp introduced last May). Luckily, there is a way to fix the problem, but it's more of a workaround than an official patch. We've reached out to WhatsApp, and can only assume it's scrambling to squash the bug. Like the vast majority of social networks, the Facebook-owned app lets you block unknown numbers and people from your contacts. This essentially restricts all forms of communication between you and the blocked user: they won't be able to call, message, peep your last seen info or changes to your profile photo, and view your status updates. Guys please, why am I still getting WhatsApp messages from this person even when I already blocked him?pic.twitter.com/GuUrq1nSjT— Ariyo Ose (@Osesax) May 22, 2018 So people can … [Read more...] about WhatsApp warning over new bug that affects your contacts and messages
Instagram is adding a shopping payments feature that lets you link your credit or debit card to pay for services directly in the app. The Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform has quietly begun trialling the feature with UK and US users ahead of a wider rollout, confirms TechCrunch. Instagram is stocked full of retailers, ads, and celebs trying to hock items, so it didn't come as a surprise when the app brought its shopping feature to the UK in March. It lets brands add a purchase option to their posts, allowing you to buy everything from trainers to gadgets by tapping a pop-up tag, which directs you to an online shop. But now Instagram is going one better: the new feature means you won't even have to leave the app to snap up the items you like. For now it's limited to payments for booking appointments, like haircuts at your local salon and restaurant reservations. But it will soon be expanded to include movie tickets, and if it's successful, you can expect it to encompass fashion too. … [Read more...] about Instagram shopping adds credit card payments to let you make in-app purchases directly
