Everspace 2 – lovely shooting, lovely looting, and the caves are brilliant too
Firstly, the new way the universe is delivered. Everspace is a bit of a magpie - FTL in the first game for its caballa-like route maps and sense of episodic adventure, and this time we're borrowing the multi-speed travel from stuff like No Man's Sky and also the way the open world is divided into little planetary instants with lightspeed tunnels in between from something like the wonderful barnstormin' Rebel Galaxy. But Everspace has its own agenda. No space-to-planet transitions like No Man's Sky, and no fixed plane for the action like Rebel Galaxy. Atomic Heart gets raytraced gameplay trailer
The trailer, and at this point I think we can say "in typical Atomic Heart fashion," is weird and unsettling. It opens with talk of a neuro network called "The Collective" and a "Universal Polymer Vaccination," which, according to the title of the video, is not going well. Regardless, Atomic Heart looks like a very pretty game if you ignore the absurdly disturbing-looking monsters. Every major new movie between now and July will be delayed, predicts studio executive
However, these delays are unlikely to include any from Warner Bros.’ 2021 slate, as the studio is opting for a hybrid release tactic – movies will premiere simultaneously in cinemas and on HBO Max, including Dune, The Suicide Squad, and The Matrix 4.
