At long last, the much awaited Nintendo Wii U is now available in North America nationwide. Those who will pick one up today should expect a pretty big firmware update that enables the online features of the console. If you happen to have a very fast internet, downloading the update data that is worth 4-5GB will take you at least an hour or two. Make sure you have something to do while you are waiting. Nintendo Wii U is now available in two configuration; the Deluxe Set which includes a 32GB internal storage, a copy of Nintendo Land, and a cradle charger for the Game Pad, and finally the Basic set in which it includes a 8GB of space. A Nintendo Wii U bundle including New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U has allegedly been spotted in an Irish sales paper. The below image was shared by blogger Oisín Quinn over Twitter. The bundle apparently includes a 32GB Wii U console. No one seems to know the price of this supposed bundle, or whether it includes physical or digital versions of the two games.If this bundle is real and it sells for around the equivalent of $300, then it would certainly be worth it considering the fact that New Super Mario Bros. But recently, the Japanese company has announced that their gaming console, Nintendo Wii U will have a massive hold in its production. Nintendo Australia today announced that the Wii U will be playable at this year’s EB Games Expo, giving fans an opportunity to get a hands-on preview of the new console ahead of its release these holidays. “EB Games Expo will be the first time gamers in Australia get to go hands on with Wii U” said Steve Wilson, managing director for EB Games Australia and New Zealand. Earlier this month, Nintendo announced that the Wii U console will launch in Australia and New Zealand on November 30. An 8GB basic model in white will be available for A$349.95, while the 32GB premium model in black will cost A$429.95. The Wii U is struggling, but it's not because of the platform's name, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. Asked by Kotaku if naming the console Wii 2 would have helped matters, Fils-Aime said, "The challenges we're facing with Wii U are not issues of the name." Fils-Aime added that Wii U sales in the United States stand at 1.5 million units, fewer than half of the system's 3.61 million worldwide global sales. It's not the name that is keeping the Wii U from growing in popularity, but rather a lack of compelling software that makes use of the GamePad, Fils-Aime said. "The issue is the lack of a steady rate of software launches to motivate the consumer to drive buzz and engagement and to highlight the wide variety of uses of the GamePad.
