A couple of days ago, Turtle Rock Studios surprised everyone with the announcement of Back 4 Blood, a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead that promises to move the co-op zombie shooter genre forward. While Back 4 Blood is clearly looking to fill the void left by the lack of Left 4 Dead 3, it remains to be seen just how similar it will be to the franchise that inspired it, and it’s unclear exactly which features will carry over. One such feature that’s up in the air is couch co-op, which was a staple of the Left 4 Dead games. The Left 4 Dead games notably supported couch co-op as well as split-screen online functionality, giving gamers a wide range of options when playing with friends. We asked Turtle Rock Studios community manager Miss Murder if Back 4 Blood would have similar couch co-op features. “No word on that yet,” she said on Twitter, “but happy to hear the suggestion!” It seems as though Turtle Rock … [Read more...] about Will Back 4 Blood Have Couch Co-Op?
Fans have been waiting nearly a decade for Left 4 Dead 3, and while nothing has been announced on that front, Turtle Rock Studios is stepping up to fill that void. Turtle Rock, the studio behind the original Left 4 Dead, has announced a new co-op zombie shooter called Back 4 Blood, and while details are scarce, an FAQ on the game offers some more information on what fans can expect from the upcoming game. Back 4 Blood will have both a campaign as well as PvP elements. It’s unclear if the campaign and PvP will be distinct and separate, or if they will blend together like we saw in the Left 4 Dead games. If it’s the latter, then fans should be able to expect special zombie types that they will be able to take control of in Back 4 Blood, though that’s just speculation at this time. Back 4 Blood is clearly positioned as a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, but the final product may have some distinct differences, and so it’s too … [Read more...] about Back 4 Blood Has Campaign and PvP, But No Battle Royale

Niantic, the creator of Pokemon GO and Ingress, is back with a new augmented reality game. In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players take on the role of a Statute of Secrecy Task Force recruit, using magic and spells to “contain a Calamity.” Niantic is ready to begin showing Harry Potter: Wizards Unite gameplay for the first time, which should be immediately recognizable to Ingress fans. While Harry Potter: Wizards Unite isn’t ready for a release date just yet, Niantic plans to launch it on iOS and Android devices in 2019. In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite players will be doing their best to maintain the secrecy of magic in the muggle world. They do this by returning Foundables trapped by Confoundable magic to their proper place. These Foundables can be a variety of things like artifacts, memories, creatures, and people, out of place and needing the player to find them, fix them, and return them home. Beyond Foundables, which will be littered … [Read more...] about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite AR Gameplay Details Revealed
