Pokemon GO players barely have a chance to catch their breath in between events this summer. The latest Battle Raid evening event wrapped up a few hours ago, but it’s already time to start planning for this weekend’s Mudkip-themed July Community Day event. To help build some hype for the festivities, Niantic just confirmed an exclusive move that is going to make PvP and PvE players very excited. Although Swampert may not traditionally have been a very PvE relevant Pokemon for the metagame, Hydro Cannon really makes the Water/Ground-type a beast in Pokemon GO. It’s unique pairing gives it just one serious vulnerability (Grass-types), but aside from that it is a powerhouse. Fire- and Rock-types beware. As always, players who want to secure the exclusive move need to actually get out and play during the July Community Day hours. Be sure to evolve your Mudkip up to a Swapert within the designated window of time to secure Hydro Cannon. If you have the Candy, we recommend … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO: Swampert July Community Day Exclusive Move Confirmed

Pokemon GO players have been racing from one event to the next all summer long and the festivities are showing no sign of slowing down. Luckily, Pokemon GO does often offer special deals on Premium Raid Passes through boxes in the in-game store that can be purchased with Coins. The currency can be earned in-game at a rate of 50 coins per day, but trainers can also shell out real world dollars and cents to add more coins to their coffers. The popular Event Box just returned to the Pokemon GO Shop, which means players can now debate over the value proposition of that item versus the Adventure Box. Each box has its own strengths, but for players … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO Event Box Returns: Is It Worth It?
Pokemon Sun and Moon ditched the gym system that has showcased boss battles since the days of Pokemon Red and Blue, but gyms and gym leaders are coming back in Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, there will be some unique twists when it comes to Pokemon Sword and Shield gym leaders so that they will stand apart from their counterparts in past games. One major change with Pokemon Sword and Shield gym leaders is the fact that some will be exclusive to one game or the other. Similarly to how some Pokemon can only be found in one of the two games, there will be gym leaders that players can only fight in Pokemon Sword and others that can only be fought in Pokemon Shield. For example, fighting-type gym leader Bea will only be found in Pokemon Sword, whereas ghost-type gym leader Allister will only fight players in Pokemon Shield. Whether or not this influences purchasing decisions remains to be seen, but there has been some … [Read more...] about All the Pokemon Sword and Shield Gym Leaders Revealed So Far
