One of the coolest thing about the Nintendo Switch has been the pattern of demos and betas available ahead of launch for Nintendo exclusive titles. These opportunities give players a chance to get a taste for free, before committing to a $60 experience. Octopath Traveler takes this trend a step further and actually allows players to take any progress made in the Prologue demo over to the full game when it launches in a few days. The Octopath Traveler Prologue demo gives players a chance to experience up to three hours of the title for free. Players select their starting character and then are set free into the world to battle, loot, and level up. After the timer is reached, the demo concludes, but players’ saved file is still safe and sound on the machine. To help incentivize picking up the full game, Nintendo and Square Enix allow players to transfer over that save state once the real game is purchased. The transfer is actually very quick and easy, which comes as a relief. … [Read more...] about Octopath Traveler: How To Transfer Demo Game Progress
Let’s get this out of the way right at the start: There’s no single, correct answer to this question. Because of that, players should be sure to pick a character that is useful and suits their play style at the beginning of the game. The other primary consideration when selecting a starting character is thinking about which abilities you may not be able to acquire for a while. For example, only the Thief character, … [Read more...] about Octopath Traveler: Which Character To Start With?

With the slew of trailers released for the game at E3 2018, it’s time to break down what the promotional material means for the story of Kingdom Hearts 3. Organization XIII Returns During the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Master Xehanort revealed his plan to form a True Organization XIII, filled with members who each carry a piece of Xehanort’s heart. These would be the true forces of darkness that would face off against the heroes of light. The E3 2018 trailers add several returning faces to the True Organization’s roster, namely Luxord, Larxene, and Marluxia.Marluxia’s addition caused a bit of confusion, as when he was revealed in the D23 Monster’s Inc. trailer he had blue eyes, while in the Japanese version of the third E3 trailer he had Xehanort’s iconic yellow eyes. This was missing from the English version of the trailer perhaps due to … [Read more...] about Everything We Know About the Kingdom Hearts 3 Story So Far
