Wolfenstein 2 proves that Jews can be heroes, not just survivors
It’s a question that comes up during job interviews and college essay writing, and every time I’m asked, I always answer the same way: my grandmother. But I’ll never tell her that. My grandmother has a complicated relationship with the word “hero”. It’s a relationship defined by the horrors she lived through in Auschwitz. The few times we’ve talked about her experience in the camps, heroism never factors into my grandmother’s stories. It wasn’t a luxury she could afford to think about. After all, heroism is defined by an active choice. How can you make a choice if your will and spirit have been broken? And what does it say about those that perished in the camps, the men and women who took a stand and were killed or helped others at their own peril, if we only valorize the survivors? No, my grandmother was preoccupied with surviving, so she thinks of herself as a survivor. “Set Roth is proof that heroism can come from the … [Read more...] about Wolfenstein 2 proves that Jews can be heroes, not just survivors
Red Dead Online Adding Law and Bounty System This Month
report this adAlthough Red Dead Online wasn’t available at launch alongside the single player part of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has made sure to keep the mode updated with new content for players to dig into. Even though the mode is technically still in beta, brand new modes like the Battle Royale style Gun Rush have appeared alongside other smaller updates and fixes. In a new post on Rockstar Newswire, the next major update for Red Dead Online was revealed, including content and plenty of new enhancements to the experience. One of the biggest changes in this latest Red Dead Redemption 2 update surrounds the topic of player griefing and destructive tendencies online. In an effort to minimize this behavior, Rockstar Games is reducing the visibility of player blips over long distances, meaning that players’ map position won’t display to others unless they’re within 150 meters. The goal with this change is to prevent players from being repeatedly … [Read more...] about Red Dead Online Adding Law and Bounty System This Month
Red Dead Online gets anti-griefing, daily challenges in Feb. 26 update
Red Dead Online’s next set of updates will smooth out some of the pain points players are experiencing while making the world feel a little more alive and active. The update will include new law and bounty systems, changes to player blips, and other balance changes. Less unwanted killing, more opportunities to fight In the upcoming patch, player blips are hidden unless you are within 150 meters of another player. The radius is larger for players who are firing their gun. This will make griefing substantially harder since it’ll be nearly impossible to track poor souls who run away from bandits. Players who are too aggressive will also have their blip darken in color and become increasingly visible. This change applies to their entire posse. “Overly aggressive acts” are defined as attacking and killing players outside of a structured mode or free roam mission. You’re free to contest a posse trying to deliver a buggy without racking up notoriety, but if you … [Read more...] about Red Dead Online gets anti-griefing, daily challenges in Feb. 26 update

There’s been a few splendid discounts on board games this month so far.Betrayal at House on the Hill, which is down to $27.99, making for a spooktacular 44 per cent off its usual price. A truly unique game, Betrayal works in two stages. The first entails all players constructing a spooky house using randomly selected tiles. Entering each newly selected room can trigger events, omens and reveal useful items. In addition, individual players each have strengths and weaknesses that determine their play style. Once enough omens are opened, the “haunting” is set off, and a second stage begins. The player who triggered the haunting becomes the “traitor” and must play against other players to win. These “haunt” scenarios are randomly generated and feature completely unique story hooks, objectives and setups. For example, the traitor might be a werewolf putting together a pack, or a serial killer intent on murdering the others. There’s even one … [Read more...] about Grab the spooky Betrayal at House on the Hill for $28
